Makeup for sensitive skin

When I say sensitive, I mean I'm allergic to zinc, iodine, glycerin, lanolin... you name it. And to top it all off... I started Accutane about 6 weeks ago. I'm one of the lucky ones and not peeling horribly, but I keep getting the "wow, you got a lot of sun over Thanksgiving!" comments and my lips are cracking, which is controllable

Here's my dilemma. I need to find a decent foundation and eye goop to wear as protection (and balance out color) during the winter months. I can wear Almay eyeliner and Neutrogena mascara at the moment. I had some Almay eyeshadow, "for green eyes," but not only did the cat break it, it made my eyelids swell up a bit if I didn't wear it every day. And it didn't look that nice. It kinda dried my eye area out. I'm trying to find out if there's any hope.

I've tried Clinique with a very bad result and I can't use the mineral-based ones because most contain zinc... The Bare Escentuals lady told me not to use even the ones that don't list it as an ingredient because it's in so many that most products will have trace amounts. The hives I had a week ago from a "light moisturizer" from Vanicream has made me really leery, but the holiday season is coming up and it's cold at night, I feel like I need some kind of protection from the elements.

So, those of you with sensitive and/or aggravated skin, what do you use?

I have a really hard time not getting breakouts from wearing makeup.

have you tried Sephora? Their stuff is expensive, but it might be worth it. I've been using what I bought from them and it has lasted me over a year.

Have you looked into Origins? They use signficantly less chemicals than most.

I don't have much experience with sensitive skin. But this website seemed interesting:
Makeup Solutions for Sensitive Skin at Skincare-News.com

It listed a few things I didn't know, like that black eyeliner has the fewest irritants. Also lists that silicone based liquid foundations are less likely to irritate the skin. Though, after what settie said about her experiences, I'm not sure.

Look at some of Burt's Bees products. Many do contain zinc oxide, as it is the most common sun screen ingredient. However, some do not contain any. I have used this one
Carrot Nutritive Night Creme - Burt's Bees and have liked it. They list the ingredients on the web page so look it over and see if any would bother you. I do see glycerin listed so maybe this wouldn't work.

All of the products I generally go to for a more natural feel seem like they would irritate you. Maybe see if you can find "how to's" on making your own with ingredients like beeswax, sunflower oil, coconut oil, etc. Also, do you have a dermatologist you like and can trust? See if they can recommend any products or know how to make your own.

Good luck!

I rarely use eyeshadow - I just don't like it. When I want a little more coverage than just eyeliner, I tend to go for eyeliners that can do double duty as a shadow. I looked at Almay's website and they do have them, but the color choices are limited.
