Is your cycle actually regular?
This was inspired by that thread where Infinite Loser wants to know if his g/f might be preggie.
Now, this will not apply to anyone on any form of b/c (surely Im not the only one?) Is your cycle actually "textbook"? I know mine isnt, I have my period every 3 to 3.5 weeks (depends on which month and which ovary its coming from)

I've had tons of issues with my period. When I was younger, it was pretty regular. After I had my first son I went on birth control and it was ok. Then, all of a sudden, it started being every 6 weeks and bleeding for 2 weeks at a time. They tried me on a couple of other birth controls, but they didn't help, so I stopped taking birth control. After that, it was normal for me to be 1-2 weeks late, but I bled normal. Now, I'm pretty regular. Every now and then I might be a week late, but that's rare.

I am currently on BC so that makes it regular, but even when I'm not, I'm very regular, it only ever wanders a few days.

I'm experimenting. First natural cycle since I was 14. Had some screwy ones about five years ago with four months off b/c. We shall see. it sucks already though.

I average around 28-29 days, but highly sensitive to stress and extreme bouts of physical activity. I've been known to kickstart it a couple days early by doing massive amounts (10-15 miles) of hiking in the week before.

My cycle is more or less regular. Around every 26-28 days. I always seem to be a day or so early than I've planned.
I find that sex (or perhaps, orgasms) can sometimes bring on a period slightly early. If I'm starting to feel like it's that time of the month (sensitive boobs, irritable, etc), I've noticed that if I have a few strong orgasms within a day or two, I get my period. If I don't, it seems to hold off for a couple of more days. And yes, I've actually experimented with this. Several times.

When I first started my period I fell into a regular pattern fairly quickly. I remember marking the calendar when I was in Junior High and counting the 28 days.
Then I was on BC for a long time. Went off cause I was gaining weight. Got so many migranes I went back on a 4 x's a year schedule with BC - loved that. Then was gaining weight again and started missing the 4 x's, getting hot flashes, etc. So I quit BC. About 6 mo later I was still having issues with the hot flashes and migranes and mood swings. Eventually the schedule evened out to 28 days again. Finally my Dr put me on Atenolol because my blood pressure was slowly creeping up (I suspect from the hot flashes and mood swings). My cycle has been 28 days nearly perfectly for the past 6 months (minus one 27 day cycle) and I have had no migranes (Except once when I forgot my blood pressure pill/beta blocker) or hot flashes. Speaking of 28 day cycle - do you start counting the day you start and end on the day you start or do you start counting the day AFTER you start and end on the day you start? I do the later. Do any of you get majorly MORE horny when you're close to your period?? I've almost been able to tell simply by how horny I am because around that time, if I go to bed and can't get to sleep because I want MORE sex... I inevitably start the next day. We love it!

My cycle was regular for a long time, when I was on BC and when I was not. Just the last 6 months or so, I noticed that my cycle was changing, and not for the better. I was hoping by now my cycle would start getting longer, but no... it is getting shorter. Each month I have been getting it 4-5 days earlier than I expect. I guess it's regular in that sense, but it is different than it used to be. I wish it would just go away all together already.

It was until this month, I'm three days early.
When I was on the Depo shot I didn't have a period for over a year. I didn't think that was good, so I got a copper IUD. It is the best and most reliable birth control I have ever had. I highly recommend it, especially if you don't want to mess with your sex drive.

I've always had problems with my cycle. I was a late bloomer in regards to my classmates. (It was at the end of my 8th grade year, I was around 14. Most of my friends got it at 11 or 12.) If i'm not on BCP I will have 3 maybe 4 periods a year. They were always pretty normal too. Not heavy and no scary cramps. My doctor put me on the pill to help regulate it. I would have it every month, but it would never follow the schedule of the pills.
So no... not very regular. |

I used to be so regular that I was late only 1 day when I took a pregnancy test and it came up positive. After my daughter I bleed so often they put me on birth control. Then I found out I was pregnant and got off the birth control. I lost the baby a week later. After that I was regular tell I got pregnant again. But during this pregnancy I bleed a little almost every day. It was high risk pregnancy. After I had my daughter I went back regular. Now after I had my third baby I have not been regular since I had her almost a year ago. I am on my period for about 2 weeks and off only 3 weeks. It really sucks. Nothing has helped so I don't know what to do.

Now I am not, last month I started a week early. I then discovered you can only buy feminine hygiene products at pharmacies in Spain, and there were none in the airport.

Oddly enough I have the most regular mild period I have ever heard of. I start every 28 on the dot - once a year I may start on day 29. My period only lasts 4 days and if it was utterly disgusting and unhealthy I only bleed enough to use 2 regular tampons. I don't get cramps but I do have mild lower back aches and irritability about a week out.
The beauty of super regular periods is being able to calculate my ovulation schedule and not worry so much about getting pregnant. Not that I am naive and believe this method is 100% but its better than going on and off birth control methods all the dang time!

I must be syncing up with the girls at my new job, because it was regular and now it's 4 days earlier every month.
