The Shoe Lovers Thread
I did a quick search and couldn't find a thread in the LL dedicated to shoes...so I thought I'd make one. I have a lot of pairs of shoes. I'm not a classic shoe freak, but I'd say I have a fair amount of them. I love shopping for shoes. I walk into a shoe store and want to try on about 10 different pairs.
So, last week I bought a couple of pairs of classic sandals. I think they are great because they will match most clothes I have, but they both have details I think make them interesting. I was in need of some good basic pairs. I will try and post shoes in here as faithfully as possible, so we can talk about them to our heart's content. It's amazing how happy I feel after buying new shoes. If only it was always that easy. I feel quite elegant in my black ones. Please post about your shoes too if you like!

Very cute! I love getting cute and sexy shoes, but then I never wear them. I can't stand the way most of them make my feet feel.

I do the SAME thing. I love a nice strappy stiletto, and I do look sexy in them. After a while though, I don't know if it's worth it! |

some brands do offer a good compromise between comfort and beauty. Usually they are pricier but well worth it because they last longer and are kinder to your feet. I don't have any Cole Hahn's but I have heard it's one of those brands. Others that are good are Aerosoles, Hush Puppies, Clarks, and Aldo.

I have all kinds of shoes. Even ones with the clear heels. Granted there are a few that are out of date but give fashion about 10 more years and they'll probably be back. I've got flats, stilletos, wedges, sandals, boots, hooker boots (as my brother's x-wife called them), eskimo boots, and tons more. I've got over 68 pairs. My husband built floor to ceiling shelves in the walk-in closet for them and I'm overflowing. Lately though I've taken a break from shoe shopping and started buying hats. I've got over 21 hats now - both summer and winter. Even one or two that I wouldn't be ashamed to wear to the Kentucky derby. LoL

I love shoes, but they don't love me. Much to my dismay, I can't wear heels at all - I can wear wedges if they aren't too high and don't have thin straps. I used to own many more pairs of shoes, but my feet grew during my pregnancy and I couldn't fit into about half of them after my son was born. I've never managed to make up for the pairs I lost. My favorite brand is Skechers because they fit my feet well.

I loveeee shoes I actually can't wait to start buying boots
I'm wondering, how high are your heels? I can't wear anything below 3" and 4 1/2" is max. Anything higher I might break my ankles.

I love shoes too! Recently I had a painful pair hurt me all day at work, so I came home and threw out - not donated or gave to g'fs- all the pain inducing or blister giving ones. It was liberating! Now I buy less new pairs, but better quality. I wear heels all day, 12+ hours a day, so they HAVE to be comfortable, and I WANT them to be cute and sexy. Plus some are open toe cause I like those best and others are closed toe for when I need a pedi ;-) and boots, I love boots for fall.
Check out endless.com if you are shoe shopping on line. They carry like billions of styles and shipping is free and overnight, even free returns. I like them cause they have it ALL. |

This may make me sound pathetic, but I'm still wearing shoes I bought almost 25 years ago. I've had a sprinkling of others to wear within that time frame, but I can't let go of my favorite pair. I always seem to be out of synk with what's in the shoe stores...I want what I saw three years ago, but didn't buy, so I end up making do with what I have. Wish I had the grace and balance for high heels. I can always find something I like perched atop a three inch spike. I just can't maneuver more than halfway around the shoe store without realizing there's too much effort involved in putting one foot in front of the other, without twisting an ankle. Hats off to you tip toe walkers.
