how do you treat a mans yeast infection?

I keep getting yeast infections after sex and my doctor told me to get clotrimazale (gyno-lotrimin) the 7 day treatment. How would I treat my husband? Just rub it on him or what.

Yes, the same way. Though in practice we usually prescribe oral diflucan. With men most of the cream would wipe off in their underwear otherwise. The creams can still work, it is just a little trickier to keep it on the skin.

sweet thanks. Guess we'll get him an appointment to get him some diflucan then!

My SO and I used to use the cream and have sex about an hour after insertion.
Much more fun and really effective. For us anyway.

Clotrimazole is cheaply available in a generic two-pack at Costco--it's far cheaper there than anywhere else I've seen it. Once I found out that that stuff was the active ingredient in Monistat, I started buying it there instead.

Now that sounds like a fantastic cure!

I can understand how that would be useful and possibly effective for the two of you at once, and fun as far as lubricant goes, but... ew. I don't know why, but it just sounds yucky to me. Using medicinal cream as lube.. just.. ew. But to each their own :)

We tried that once, but it lead to bad results as it was a bad yeast infection and just ended up hurting and burning. I thought it was a great idea at first...oh how I was wrong!

When im2smrt4u went to the school clinic doctor, he told him just to get athletes foot cream. I thought it was a little weird but they are both yeast infections and it did work very well.

I guess my previous post made one of our male members think of this joke so here it goes.

"A husband and wife go out to dinner, and he persuades her to leave her knickers off.

At dinner, he slips off his shoe, and from the other side of the table begins to bring her off with his toe.

She gets off, and they go home and have great sex.

A few days later, he starts to get itchy feet, so he goes to the pharmacist and gets told that he has thrush between the toes, but not to worry, Canisten will cure it.

He phones up his wife, and says - hey honey, you infected me, I've got thrush of the feet.

She replies - you think THAT's bad? I've got athlete's cunt!"

Oh man, what a terrible joke.
