Sex and the City
Did you see it yet? I saw it on Sunday and it was brilliant. I loved the show (saw every episode) and the movie did not disappoint! The ladies were lovely and their chemistry is still there. Lots of laughter and tears, awesome chick flick!

I could not see the draw in the show...then again, I didn't get the whole thing about Lost either....I tried..watched quite a few episodes, most not in their entirety because I was bored......
Maybe it lost something in its rerunned state, maybe it's my distaste for SJP and maybe it's the utter bombardment of the media about it, but I have no desire to even watch it when it gets to HBO. Admittedly, I am not a chick flick chick.... |

I loved the movie, I was surprised that they did so well with it. Usually TV to movie never goes quite right, but they did this one pretty damn well.
The reason the show is so popular is because it's about how women really are, what they really talk about and how their relationships really go. A surprising amount of men I know like it, probably because the chicks are funny too but it doesn't hurt that it gives them pretty good insight into what women are obsessing over when they aren't around, heh. I can't even count how many times I've watched it with my boyfriend and said to him after one scene or another 'Yes, we really do/say that.' 'That's actually happened to me before.' etc. It's cute. Good times my girlfriends and I all got in cocktail dresses, filled a few flasks with cosmopolitan and went to see it on opening night. |

I saw it opening night, LOVED IT! It was wonderful, everything expected and more. Its a shame the girls don't have the same chemistry offset that they do on. I really enjoyed it. My friend and I would have dressed up however we were both tired. I did get to order drinks that night...didn't even get carded!

My friends and I got to see the movie opening night and all of us liked it a lot. It was even better because we all had drinks before hand and were tipsy by the time the movie started. It followed suit with the series very well. All of us used to watch the show together. Even some of there boyfriends would sit down and watch it with us. The boys actually enjoyed the show because they didn't realize how women thought, and they also got to see naked women which also made a difference for them.

I heard tell from another huge fan of the show with similar tastes to mine who said: 'it sucks, big time, it made me want to cry.' And not in a good way.
I'd rather just enjoy my memories of the show...plus I heartell a rumor that I might be getting the full set of dvds for me birfday.

half the fun of seeing it (specially opening night) was using it as an excuse to get together with your friends who love the show, dressing up to the max, and getting drinks and celebrating the awesomeness that is being a girl.
and it didnt hurt that the move made me laugh and cry, both of which we all need once in awhile.

I couldn't finish watching the series, it made me too analytical and crazy about my own love life. Enough of that sh*t!
Plus I'm currently seeing a "Mr. Big" clone atm (I even call him Mr. Big, but he doesn't know why), and honestly, I can't deal with watching a bigger (heh) version on the screen.

OHHHHHHH SATC talk
I was surprised by Steve's actions in the movie... I totally didn't think that was fitting of his character.... I was shocked I tell you, shocked! which is I guess what they wanted other than that. LOVED the movie! thought it was very cute and funny. Big and Carrie are so normal in their fucked-up-ness aren't they?

The night it opened here in PE, every lady besides me was out on the town in their high heels, dressed up in the bestest best to have a girls night out with dinner a movie and cocktails. and i mean every lady!
There were invites going out on facebook. "Please come join us and bring all your lady friends along" serioulsy. i on the other hand waited, because i really cant handle so many women in one place all at the same time most of whom i dont really fancy much so a week went by after opening night and i went to see it with my two most bestest friends in the entire world...my maid of honour and my husband to be and it was awesome! made it somewhat more special the movie was awesome by the way and yes, Big and Carrie are quite normal in all their fucked-up-ness

Ktspktsp and I went to see this movie (his idea--yes, that's how great he is--we watched a lot of the series together, actually!) and to be honest, I wasn't terribly impressed. Sure, I laughed at the funny parts, but I didn't cry, or feel much of anything, for a lot of the characters (Carrie annoyed me, a LOT--and so did Big). The script really didn't catch my attention--a lot of stock, predictable lines--I think I'll go back to watching the series, since I enjoyed that more.

yeah, i would have loved that too
Guys who read this, can you imagine a gender equality place were your girlfriend actually liked the shows that you and your friends really enjoyed, and tell her that this specific male thing would be great educationwise for all the females out there who does not have a clue about how to treat a woman, uh, sorry i mean man.
Long live gender equality were male should be allowed to say and think the same ways about the opposite sex, as females without being labeled chauvinists. |
