The joys of showering

Not counting your sink, how many bottles of product do you have inside your shower?

Washing my hair this morning, I suddenly realized I have so much stuff in there, but I just know I'm not the only one.

Four bottles of shampoo, two bottles of conditioner, one tube of conditioner, two bottles of shower gel (one manly, one girly), two bars of Lush soaps, a Lush bar shampoo and tub of conditioner, all in various states of use.

And I won't count 2 disposable razors, one nail brush and blue pumice "sponge", 2 gel poufs and the toothbrush in the corner that I use to clean the grout.

I don't believe it's consumerism at work. I just like to smell good and pamper myself and really enjoy my shower. And I like choices that fit my moods.

What's in your shower?

I have two sets of shampoo and conditioner (one Aveda, one Aussie), one bottle of shower gel, a bar of soap, and facewash.

Outside of the shower, I have my razor & extra blades, my pumice foot file thinger, and my Clarisonic.

Interesting question!

I streamline the amount of product in my shower every now and again, as I live with two guys who don't really appreciate me taking over the shower with my girl stuff.

So, right now it's down to Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner, Dove body wash, a daily use Neutrogena face wash, Clinique exfoliating scrub, my Gillette Mach 3 razor, and my Kiss My Face Lavender and Shea Butter Moisture Shave. I have a pouf and a scrub brush, too.

Let's see, I have one shampoo, one conditioner, one little tube of conditioner from my hair color box, some body wash, some Lush shower gel (seriously the best stuff ever!), face wash and a pouf. Not too much stuff in my opinion.

Almost identical to Shani & Dave, hehe: 2 Costco-size bottles of shampoo/conditioner, 1 bottle of my face wash, 1 bar of soap, and my razor.

I dislike crowded showers. I just tossed/recycled an empty can of shaving gel, a near-empty bottle of shower gel, and a pouf.

Sidenote: I had no idea that Lush was so popular... I've only seen it in Iceland. Ktspktsp bought me what looks like a dissolvable ball of really yummy-smelling stuff for Christmas, but I don't think it's soap... any clues? Do I have to have a bathtub to use it? We only have a tiny shower stall.

If it's a bath bomb, I can't see it being used any other way. I don't have a tub but used my first Lush item (also a gift) on a weekend getaway when I had a spa tub in the room.

That's what got me curious about the rest of the Lush products. A store's about to open about an hour from me, but I was in the Orlando area and happened on a store there. This was only in November, and I've been a mega-Lush 'ho since I use their catalogues and website now, though.

It does sound like a bath bomb. You can save it for a time when you do have a bathtub to use it in or if you can stopper your shower, you can crumble it into the water at your feet and that will release the smell. If you can't do either of those, you can crumble a little and mix it with some water and put it directly on your skin to make it soft. Good luck.

Well, I'm odd (wo)man out then I guess. I have very fine hair (a curse no doubt) and have found the using ivory or jergens bar soap works just great. So I have half a bar of soap and a fingernail brush that I use body-wide. No shampoos, no conditioners, no razor (fine, thin hair on body is a blessing), no lotions or potions.

In an attempt at minimizing body products, I have used only a bar of ivory soap for my hair and body for months at a time. Unfortunately, I have thick, wavy/curly hair down to my waist. Bar soap tends to make my hair feel thicker and more difficult to brush. I have often thought that it would work well on thin hair. It is nice to hear a comment to this effect.

So the point of a bath bomb is to enjoy the yummy smell, and it softens your skin more than regular water/bubble bath, etc? Just curious... and eager to give it a try! (Also am drawn to these Lush bar soaps that everyone keeps talking about... are they expensive?--well, stupid question in Iceland, I know--but relatively?)

I love bathbombs! I just love baths though with oils or bubbles or anything..
My bathroom though, is diddy, i mean like the bath takes up most of the room, the loo is next to it then I have a tiny sink and a cupboard almost the size of the room where I keep towels and misc. Products. On the windowsill there are a couple of old bottles of showerbubbles /gels and razors that belong to my huosemate..any other products are kept in my bedroom or it would get far too messy!
I want a bath now.

I have one washcloth, two bottles of sun silk shampoo, one bottle of sun silk conditioner and one biore facial cleanser. Oh and one razer..

At home there are a lot more things in the shower I can't think of. But I'm equally horrified we have so much in a shower that only gets used when I'm home. Rarely.

All told, we have:

5 bottles of shampoo (3 are mine, 1 is hubby's, and 1 is son's)
2 bottles of conditioner
1 tube of conditioner
2 bodywashes (1 is mine that I use for shaving, 1 is for the boys)
2 poufs
1 soap
1 razor (mine)

I keep my bath oils and bubble bath under the sink
(WHAT is a bathbomb???)

I prefer to use soap, or I'm sure we'd have several bodywashes instead of just the 2.

It is strange to see how much people are just in lvoe with the Lush products. I cannot even enter the store because the intense smells and perfumes are way too much on my sinuses.
I personally have 2 bottles of shampoo (pantene and outrageous) and 2 bottles of conditioner (again, same brands), a sponge from the dollar store for washing dishes that I use as an exfoliating scrubber (TIS A WORK OF MIRACLES), Netrogena daily facewash and a bar of citrus soap.

My husband has 1 shampoo/conditioner combo bottle, 1 bar of soap.
My son has 1 bottle of body wash, 1 shampoo/conditioner bottle, 1 bottle of bubbles, a sponge and a face cloth, and too many toys.
My daughter has 1 shampoo, 1 conditoner, 1 body wash, 1 sponge and 1 face cloth, a comb, bubble bath.
I have 2 shampoos, 1 conditioner, 1 body wash, 1 sponge and 1 face cloth, my razor, shaving cream, Dove facial cleanser cloths (you know, the kind with the soap already in them).
We also keep the daily shower cleaner in there.

I'm not a big fan of Lush stuff. Or really even bath and body works stuff anymore. I use unscented soap or lightly scented bodywash (Alba), and unscented lotion, unscented deodorant, and occasionally I wear my apricot fig perfume that makes me happy.

I've changed around my shower essentials(went to Aveda again! That place takes so much of my money, but their products are so nice!), so now the list reads:

One shampoo, two conditioners (Aveda)
One shaving lotion
One bodywash
One bar of soap
One body scrub

And my new Aveda face cleanser travels from sink to shower, so it's usually only in the shower when I'm going to use it. Feels great with my clarisonic, though I'm sorta wishing I would have gotten the gel cleanser instead of the creme.

We have an 18 year old daughter living at home still, my husband, baby son and I.

Our shower is a bit of a nightmare, and we only have 1! (This house is too small for us, Luckily the shower is large!)

I have a 3 tier shelf that hangs off the shower spigot and one of those 4 tiered shelves that goes from the tub to the ceiling. And it's loaded, I probably should get rid of it, because I absolutely hate it and swear at it every 3 or 4 days when I clean it!!

On the shelves there are 3 bottles of conditioner, one deep conditioner for dry hair, and 2 different types fruity scented ones, 1 bottle of apple cider vinegar, (I like to do a vinegar rinse a few times a week) 5 bottles of shampoo, One for dandruff, one for psoriasis, one baby shampoo and two fruity scented types.

One bottle of pomegranate scented body wash, 2 bars of homemade bar soap, one oatmeal and goat's milk (baby's skin) and one magnolia scented, 1 bar of Coast deodorant soap.

On the shelving unit that hangs from the shower, there are 3 types of facial cleansers, 2 buff puffs, 2 razors, one shower mirror, and one shower radio.
(waterproof radio) A loofah, And a back brush.

The difference as they bars do last a long time as you said. I have a friend who makes homemade soaps as gifts for the holidays and birthdays etc. They are absolutely wonderful and do last a long time. If you really do enjoy the bath bombs and are interested I could see if she would be willing to pass along a recipe, she has said that they are incredibly simple and easy to make.

As far as my shower, I am about embarrassed. I have 3 bottles each of shampoo and conditioner. 4 bars of soap in various scents(my friends homemade products.. yummy) one scrubby with a wooden handle for getting my back, one bath sponge, one regular bath poof, one of those callous removers, my razor of of course and a small jar of scented fizzy bath salts.

We have hardly anything IN the shower. It's a small cubicle for now. We are building a huge 5x7 shower with 4 shower head (2 for each person). Even so I expect it will be fairly slim pickings INSIDE the shower.

Outside the shower I have a few more things but still not MANY.

Inside
---------
His 2 in 1 shampoo
Bar Lever soap
Bottle suave body gel
Can skintimate shaving cream
Disposable razor
Bottle Pantene Moisture replenishing shampoo
Bottle Pantene " conditioner
Apricot facial scrub
Jar Pantene hair mask
Pumic stone
A small bottle of vinigar (useful for combating any yeasties/fungus)

I suppose I could eliminate the Hair mask since I use it only weekly and I did not have it in the shower yesterday morning but I USED it last night and didn't take it out. As for OUTSIDE the shower but within reach...

shampoo
conditioner
bar soap
Skin-so-soft body oil in a spray bottle
lotion
vinigar and water disposible douche

Doesn't seem like all that much.

When I've lived with other women, I've definitely had more in the way of products. I think living with men really has trimmed down the number of products I have.
