Bras

Hey ladies!

Where do you buy your bras? I guess this is geared more towards the larger busted women because I'm trying to find a good place to get one. I'm a 36 - 38 FF, and well, I have a really hard time finding a nice bra. I don't even really care if it's adorable because well, I've realized that's seemingly impossible when you don't wear the average size.

The last bras I bought were at Lane Bryant and I kind of like them, but they're getting too small, they're F's and it's not good becuase I have to adjust them very often when I pop out of the top. Ugh, it's frustrating.

Thanks ahead of time!

ShaniFaye 09-27-2007 03:55 PM

before my reduction surgery I got mine at the Hanes/Bali store, I was a F cup

hah now I dont have to wear one so I just buy the cheap 4 dollar ones at walmart if wear a shirt that requires the wearing of one

http://www.barenecessities.com has some pretty stuff - pretty expensive prices too but for support you kinda have to pay a bit more...

you might also want to check your area for a bra store, and get properly fitted for one - you might not be the size you think... Properly fitting undergarments are stressed on the "you look like a slob, but we're gonna improve you" make over shows... so bra stores are kind of becoming more common...

Look online, if you're sure of your size.

http://www.barenecessities.com/ has hard to find sizes.

Mal beat me to it...I was too distracted browsing their site...haha!

raeanna74 09-27-2007 04:48 PM

I'm not LARGE breasted but an odd size. I found half sizes at JCPenny's. I'm a 36C but most places have only 36B or 38C. Pennies had a 36B+ or something like that. Forget how they graded it but I actually found stuff that fit right.

Now my boobs have grown again. Started a new pill and a side effect was that it actually grows the boobs a little. They ached and stretched for 2 months and stopped after that. Now I need to go shopping again. I'll wait till after Christmas specials I think. I can get by until then.

Jenna 09-27-2007 06:28 PM

That barenecessities website looks amazing! Thanks so much!

Hyacinthe 09-28-2007 12:24 AM

I use barenecessities to - would also point you towards

http://www.herroom.com/

onodrim 09-28-2007 01:02 PM

Another great site that has many hard to find sizes is figleaves.com, hope that helps! :)

la petite moi 09-28-2007 02:18 PM

Wish I could help, but I don't wear one. Hate them!

Midnight 09-28-2007 02:19 PM

I'm a http://www.barenecessities.com shopper as well. great stuff there.

surferlove007 10-01-2007 09:03 PM

I LOVE bras! But I'm a 34-36 C so they typically have my size.
My mom however in a DD and she goes to T.J. Maxx...you'd be surprised some of the cute underwear they have!

they have a lot of good stuff, marshalls, nordstrom rack, and filene's basement are also good places.. but tjmaxx and marshalls are generally like treasure hunts... the stores, especially the lingerie departments, are usually such a mess, that it's time consuming to find what you're looking for... but they have brand names, at really good prices...

mandy 10-02-2007 03:56 AM

if i had my way, i wouldn't wear a bra at all :( but unfortunately i'm a 36 C.

I hate it! I wana go smaller but yeah, the shops here in SA well, it seems as though they only cater for 36 C's cos there are never any in my size. it's hard for me to find my size here too.

but those sites look great. i hope you get what you looking for love.

Clare 10-04-2007 12:27 PM

i am a 32 E and a small back size and large cup are so very hard to find. But i'm from the UK so not sure if i have any sites that could help alot of you canadians / americans / other places on here.

http://www.lasenza.com has quite a few locations there is a la senza department store near to where i live and the bras are in all sizes and all less that £10

http://www.figleaves.com/ always a good one

hmm i can only think of british ones now sorry i'm not much use

PS wow you have TJ maxx its called TK maxx over here :D because we have another similar shop called TJ hughes haha

Searcher 10-20-2007 01:09 AM

Mandy check and see if Lasenza have a co.za site...not sure if you have a store in PE...I used to buy all my bra's in their store in CPT when I lived there..they are very good for catering for all sizes...

AllyM 10-23-2007 04:09 PM

I appreciate the advice found on this thread!! ...usually no one carries my size (34DD) I'm not picky, i just want something that fits!

LadySin 10-23-2007 07:34 PM

For anyone here thats a DD or below... try Fredericks of Hollywood... not only do they have some nice bras (stylewise) they are also comfy, and they always have some really nice panties to go with them. My problem is always finding panties in my size (I am a plus size) to match the cute bras I like. But they seem to have some nice ones. Oh and a nice place to get some cute and sexy (not so expensive) lingerie (that also comes in plus sizes and not so plus sized)... http://www.biggalslingerie.com/index.html
They have some awesome costumes too. I think I want a little red riding hood or cop one though lol.

Shaindra 10-31-2007 07:54 AM

Fredericks. They have sexy bras (and matching panties!!!) in larger sizes, but they aren't "big girl" bras like a lot of places. Why do they assume that if you're over a C cup, you want to restrain them like terrorist suspects?

LadySin 10-31-2007 06:43 PM

HAHA I agree with you there. Everone has seen the bras at walmart for women above a C cup. They are horrid! I dont care how old I get, Im not wearing those God awful things.

StellaLuna 11-02-2007 05:45 AM

I would really love it if they'd make cute bras in my size! I'm not huge or anything, but dammit, I want polka dots and lace!

midevilmommy 11-04-2007 05:07 AM

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates those awful "full coverage" bras for well endowed women! I have nice boobs and I want to show them off darnit!
As a 34DD I have problems too. My best luck so far is a local bra/lingerie store. Some of my other well-endowed friends like Victoria's Secret because they have larger sizes, but frequently the uncommon sizes are only available online

bloodykisses 11-07-2007 03:59 PM

Victoria's Secret...which is pricey but worth it because they always fit well and last a long time. I do not recommend Frederick's of Hollywood as they are cheap.

genuinegirly 12-02-2007 06:58 PM

32D, difficult size to find. 32A, 32B - easy enough to find, in the little girl's section. I can't even find 32D at Victoria's secret.

I've found two, ever. Forget about finding ones with fun lace, as they only exist in plain white and black it seems. Those 2 were found randomly after glancing at lingere for 5 minutes at Marshalls. Whenever I actually try looking for them, they don't seem to exist.

Hey! I like this bare necessities site. Thanks for passing it along!

creepysusie 12-03-2007 08:07 PM

OOoo OOoooo
I originally thought I was a 38 D at La Senza because i have been that size for as long as I could remember, but I went into CHANGE, apparently it's a swedish bra store, at the mall the other day and they measured me and brought me various bras of different sizes without letting me look at the size tag.
They fit me into a 36F! I felt like I was a guest on a surprise episode of Oprah!
Their bras are a little pricier than the ones at La Senza (Canadian Bra store) but MY GOD they were good fitting bras!
By the way, they carry up to a J cup

angelica 12-07-2007 01:03 PM

I agree with creepysusie..you first have to get properly fitted. Just because you "fit" into a certain bra size doesn't mean that is your right size.

noodle 12-07-2007 01:17 PM

Okay and where do we shop for sports bras ladies?

The black eyes are getting hard to explain away.
Ah ha. Joke.
But I'm getting more painful workouts as the old ones strecth away and I'm already wearing two.
Hope this doesn't threadjack you, Jenna.

maleficent 12-07-2007 01:45 PM

I looooove my sports bra (high impact) that I got at Gap Body --

the real requirements i had in one were support and it had to have hooks in the back -my shoulder is too screwed up for the pull over variety and this came in a pretty color too...

VS has the in the summer - I tried to get one a few weeks ago, my current selection a re too big for me now,a nd I was scoffed at - They don't sell sports bras this time of year.. well excuuuuse me :D

Haha the same thing happened to me when I turned 14. I thought I was around a D or DD cup, and I went and actually got fitted. Sure enough, I was actually an E! I've grown since then but it was a HUGE shock for me. I totally know what you mean about being a guest on Oprah!

No worries... honestly though, my sport bras are really crappy and fit me terribly. I don't do a lot of running though.

The best sports bras that I found were at G.I. Joe's. Go figure.
