Ok... After spending a few hours of my workday reading this... I just HAD to get in on it. I emailed him the following:
My cousin Brian had sent me an email with your information last summer, stating that you had come into a large sum of money that was meant to be mine. I am Richard Burson Sexton's illegitimate daughter, and this money should belong to me. Please get back to me asap. Thank you. Bless your eyes. Penelope

I don't think I've laughed till I've cried at an internet thread in about 4 year. The letter is just comedy gold. His final rant/abuse is also a thing of beauty.
Very GG.

I respond to these quite often, but I've never taken it past the fourth response. If they make the mistake of invoking the name of God in their email, I tell them that God Almighty is watching their efforts to scam people, and they will have to answer for it on judgment day, etc.
I had ONE guy, in all the ones I strung along and then told them I knew it was a scam, write back and admit it. (I normally sign off with "Get a real job and stop trying to steal.") He said he was poor, needed food, no jobs in his area, etc. but to his credit, he said "And I'm not asking you send me any money." So I didn't.

Wow, I finally got to reading this thread. Incredibly hilarious and entertaining.
What patience. And how did that $520 climb to $550?

I know a guy who was taken by one of these. He owned a small manufacturing company, was in his late 60's and paid about $10,000.00 I think. Sad to see but he just believed it had to be true. Some people get desperate I guess. By the time it was over he had no recourse.
By the way, great read though!!

I just read through this entire thread [new user here]. I laughed quite a bit. Crack you did a wonderful job. The oh noes of that one guy is sad, but really if someone is dumb enough to wire $150,000 to someone they don't really know they deserve it.
How does the saying go? A fool and his money are easily parted? Or some such thing. In any event. A bump to this thread, and thanks for the laughs.

My Sis answered an ad for a job opening.
From: Kenneth John <kennethjohn90@yahoo.com> Subject: JOB INFO To: "xxxxxxxx" <xxxxxx@yahoo.com> Date: Tuesday, August 11, 2009, 11:45 PM Hi, Thanks for the response, i'm seeking a caregiver for my grandmother, you just need to let my grand mother know when you're free and able to see her and she would pick out of those hours. She is just 60 yrs old and not suffering from any disability or disease for now.she just had a surgery on Armenia operation for too much sugar content about three months ago. I just need someone who will come around to look and see how she is doing now that i'm away as why i don't mind her to travel down to your location so you can take care of her for me till i get back in 3 weeks time okay. I know its might be a lil inconvenient for you to accommodate her, i've make arrangements with her mobility agent, he will make necessary arrangement for any guest house around your location for her so you can always get to see her there. Your personal pay is the $300 weekly and every other expenses will surely be taking care of and you don't need to get worried about that. She will be arriving from Chelsea,Michigan. It will be fine with me if she can stay with you in your house. If not,her mobility agent will arrange for a guest house in your location where you will always go and attend to her as scheduled. She'll be arriving on the 18th of August. I'll be paying you in advance which will also be including the funds to pay for her Mobility agent. Once you receive the payment, you'll get it cashed, deduct your pay for the first week and forward the balance to the Mobility agent for all her traveling expenses. so we can have a good and comfortable preparation before her arrival schedule. Kindly get back to me with your contact address, 1) Full Name: 2) Address: 3)City and State: 4)Post Code: 5) Valid Phone No: All i need from you is total honesty and sincerity. I know you will be committed to the work, You will also have a nice period of working with her,as she is very friendly and honest woman okay. I will be waiting to hear from you. Reese, my sis answered a job ad. Got this Kenneth John dude who wanted someone to look after his ailing grandma coming down to NC. All he needed was her "honesty" and for her to pick out the guest house and relay the costs of everything she needed while she took care of her. He even sent her a check before hand. Hadn't she informed me of this before she sent the check to the bank she would have been out $3500.00!
