Not really sure where to start here

I didnt formally introduce myself here yet. Not really sure why. I guess it is my shyness coming out. I thought that only happened IRL. My name is Laura, I am 35 (soon to be 36), married 11 years with 2 children (8 and 2 1/2). I am not sure what I expect out of this board, but I have been feeling lonely and neglected lately. My DH is on the computer alot, he visits a message board similar to this one and spends all his time there, every moment he gets. all his other time is taken up by softball, hence my user name. The kids and I are definitely not first in his life. There is more to my story and the reason I came to this board, but I am not ready to talk about it. I will do my best to jump on in, but it might take me some time, and some more beer.

Welcome Laura! I found this place great to 'get lost' in. There are so many topics, so many opinions and when you do start to participate you get a sense of self . From what is sounds the TFP is just what the doctor ordered! Jump in and have some fun, you will be amazed and probably a bit more understanding when your SO spends so much time in his boards. Who knows, you may both start discussing issues you find on your boards and that will help with communication between you two!

I myself am starting to check out the journels... if you don't want to share on a up front forum topic then this sounds like just the sort of thing you need when all you want to do is rant or vent.

All this aside, this is a wonderful place with so much going on and great people, enjoy!!

Allow me to be the first one to say "Welcome!" I hope you find that the TFP is a place to find sanctuary and support. Your post implies that you are feeling some degree of injury regarding your current state of affairs. I think you will find that there is a strong support network here.

I would suggest that you look into the Ladies' Lounge. The women there are very supportive and candid. I wish you the very best of luck!

Welcome to TFP! You found a good place to hang out and, when the time is right, let your emotions out. All of the TFP'rs are good listeners.

As far as what to expect.....expect nothing. I have always found it easier not have expectations and just see how things go. Read a little, post a little and enjoy your time here.

Glad to see you here. While sorry about the problems in the outside world, take solice in the fact that you can bury yourself here as much and as often as you need to and there's always somebody to talk to about anything.

This place is diverse. Find what interests you, take the above advice and visit the Ladies Lounge, read, post, have fun, and let go of the stress that the outside world builds up.

And I doubt your SO comes to a similar message board... You picked the winner when it comes to thought, content, compassion, and discussion.

You my dear.....have found a community of open minds, and deep hearts. If indeed we can help, it is likely we will. Just get to know the place and everything will begin to flow....trust me on this.

Feel free to PM a Mod with questions....everyone else does....heh
