HI
hello - newbie here. Um... never actually joined a forum before, they all seem so confrontational and argumentative, but I really liked what I saw and read here, everybody seems genuinely interested in having intelligent discussions and helping each other. Hopefully I won't get too distracted with work and life in general to stay active here. I've decided to turn over a new leaf and seek out other people rather than being a hermit (that was ex-husband's fault). So I thought I'd put it out there. (Yes, I am long-winded and never shut up)

Greetings and Salutations.
I am a freak of nature whose purpose in life is to attempt integrating in amongst the status quo. Never been successful in my prior attempts so am not banking on much distance this time around either. Though I must admit the usually generated dialog which had resulted in the past was well worth it. So here I am. Love me or hate me I am now here amongst you. Perhaps in time some measure of mutual respect may result. Or maybe I could just go watch another episode of the X-files. The Truth Is Out There. And it's secrets exist within us. Peace. |

Hey everyone!
Captobvious here, but I guess that's pretty obvious. I've had my account for a while, but just recently rediscovered how fun it is to participate here. I never formally introduced myself when I first signed up, so I figured it's better late than never. Cheers! |

Hi all!
Duskytip from Alaska who has spent the day reading your threads, laughing my butt off and generally just enjoying the good feelings. Each of you compelled me to register and I am looking forward to exchanging "deep" philosophical, and real life experiences with all of you... Actually I am from Alaska and am sometimes completely full of it! |

How do I show location?
How do I put in 'location'.This is sure the best site I have found in the years since Al Gore and I started the net..... Had the idea while in Radio Shack tasting mother boards. You see Al was trying to develop a GPS device for his butt, so he would know where the paper was to be rubbed. So anyway after receiving my section 8, I went to school long enough to get to the 4th year, so that I could take a course that would help me understand my heritage. However my Prof asked me to leave 'Social Problems and Deviant Behavior'. Seems that I knew the plot. Well I am gonna go out and sniff the air in the tires....

duskytip Alaska huh? That sounds cool. How long have you been there? What do you do? I bet you could write a "Differences living in Alaska" thread in General Discussion and you would get a lot of responses.
MINCKEN Well we like randomness here. Maybe Tilted Nonsense would be a good board to start out on. caver Civil Discussion? Yeah - the mods keep things straight and for the most part, we behave with each other. onthedge well post a couple times and start following the threads you posted in. I like to run a search on my user name so I can see if anyone commented on my . . . comments. . . Welcome to all.

Well it's hard to believe, but I haven't posted for about 3 years. I first heard about tfp on a message board for a game that Hal(?) used to play. School was getting busier and busier so I took a break from the game and tfp as well.
Now three years later, I'm browsing fark and I see a mention of tfp so I head over to retrieve my pass. I'm surprised my account is still active over that long hiatus! I'm also surpised you guys have grown larger and closer as a community without that 'special section'. Long time members will know what I'm talking about . So I'm here to properly reintroduce myself and hopefully engage in some enlightning discussions with mature, opened-minded individuals from various subcultures of a vast information superhighway we call the "internet". Or something like that Oh yeah is there a way to change my username? I don't know what I was thinking back then. Last edited by Bolla; 07-28-2006 at 02:34 AM.. |
