well, it has been up for quite a while, as I understand it the only reason that the dates on the older members joining being not to old is because sometime in 03(?) they had harddrive problems and had to restart everything, So I don't think it is going to close any time soon for no reason, if you want to help keep it up you can donate.

I was gonna lurk for a few days, to see if there really was interesting and intelligent discussion on this site. I'm impressed, all praise is due to Halx for an important contribution to the cultural scene. I was visiting a forum dedicated to banjo's (a current interest) and dipped into the open forum there. I was horrified, in a short period of time I was called a terrorist, commie, condemned for my education, threatend with hellfire, told I would be reported to the FBI and generally abused for defending free speech. The mission of TFP is noble and I am very pleased to have found this site. If you want the name of the "other site" pm me. Its an education in the unvarnished bigotry and facism being institutionalized in our sadly divided country.
