Not a big deal, just wondering, but does entries in your journal or comments on other people's count towards your post count? Just wondering because I am semi-close to an avatar I think, but whatever, it doesn't matter.
I just like the journal and reading others the best, but if it doesn't count, oh well. Thanks in advance

I was wondering I have surpassed the 250 mark to recieve an avatar, but I haven't (unless I read the rules wrong). Was wondering if any of the moderators could fix this or let me know the 411.

drakers. I believe in the rules they say that they have to be 250 quality posts, so that makes me think once you cross the amount, they do a quick review of the content of your posts before opening up the avatar option.
Mods, is this correct?

That would be incorrect. In reality.....should a member contribute to this community in an exeptional manner they may be evaluated at any time, After one month on the boards. Each user of these forums is "Checked Out" before full membership is granted.
Give it a couple weeks drakers......and we shall see.

If ya don't mind me asking.. how do you 250 times in 2 weeks?
Were they mostly intelligent posts with something interesting to say? If so, then thank you. If not, then keep wonderin' about that avatar.

There are several levels of participation attained at TFP. Some of the levels are attained automatically through a formula built into the code of the forum software. Some are given as a reward to those contributors who show the maturity and respect needed to interact as part of the community Membership. The latter are not automated and must be turned on after careful evaluation of posts, and consideration of history.

Actually............I think we can do without your contributions, both monetary and intellectual. That was a truly insightful First post.

how is making quality posts "jumping through hoops"? Is it so hard for someone to carry on an intelligent discussion? There are WAY too many topics on this board for it to be considered a challenge to take part in discussions. I really wonder about people sometimes

looking for a little help
a wee question, This is probably not the right termonology but you should get my drift. If i was to go into a discussion room and contributed to the discussion is there a quick and easy way to go back to the discussion so i can continue or do i have to find it all over again like i am going to have to do to see if anyone has replied to this confused mess. thanks.

Thanks tec. I bumbled around but I think I finally figured it out. Still can't get the popup version to connect though. But mIRC works just dandy. See you there.

Likely....such incredible insight would be found only in the mind of tecoyah....however, it is rumored that in the Philosophy forum , dwell the greatest thinkers of our time. Nay....of all time.
/end overly dramatic dribble

thanks tecoyah, for the intro and the riff both. Now I'll do my thing and organize a little bit of space time and confront some systems with my perceptions. Or head over to the "whuzzup" forum and see what can be dummied down to my particular favorite flavours of paplum. Or whatever.

As most here are aware, that is not the way to gain membership. In fact it often delays the flipping of the switch. It is helpful to understand that this is not like most forums, we do not use Bots to track our membership.....we use a staff of Humans and track the Quality of posting from Everyone. PLease keep this in mind in the future as it will likely benefit us all.

Hey there. I'm relatively new, but wondering exactly why one would get banned? Is inactivity a reason to get banned?

I see that 500 posts qualifies one for a custom user title...I have made just over that now, mostly of decent quality, yet I don't see how to change my title. Please, can I change it, pretty please? I have a personal dislike of being labeled an "Addict."
