Putting a picture in a thread - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I can't seem to add a picture to a thread.
I have read all of the threads where people have explained it, but I still can't do it. Could someone pm or email how to take a .jpg file and put it in a thread. I need someone to explain it like I was a moron, because that's how I feel about spending 3 hours trying to do it and failing, over and over and over.

1. the pic needs to be on an http host that allows remote image linking

2. when you've got that part, then take the url of the pic, for example:
http://www.freeimagehost.com/user/pic01.jpg

and put that link into the [img*][/img*] tags. (without asterisks)

How can I tell if the site allows remote imaging?

1. you could've posted a link to your thread.
2. generally, if it shows up, it's allowed. if not, not.

(general tips - geocities/tripod (in the USA - other tripod's might) do not allow it, in the normal way. there is a workaround, simple, but i don't want to confuse you. most 'adult' free hosts also do not allow it.)

now i go to your thread to see specifically what host you're using.

a-ha! i see your problem. you need to link to the IMAGE FILE not an html page or whatever.

meaning, jp(e)g or gif or bmp. jpg being most common.

right click the image and get it's 'Properties' for the exact image link.

I remember when i used to post here (halx's avatar was him holding his "tin soldier"...to give you a general time maybe 6-8mths ago) i rarely came on tfp and looked at porn....

the point is it is a good forum and if you wanted to come here just for the porn you might as well go to sublimedirectory.com or somewhere
