I think that I also had something close to 200 posts. And to think I was wondering what I was going to use as an avatar, guess I don't have to worry about that for a while.

KillerYoda 04-20-2003 08:01 PM

I don't like this n00b feeling again. It's like being dropped back to freshman year in high school when you're halfway through college.

vevaphon 04-20-2003 09:34 PM

nuked.

suckage.

at least TFP still looks good.

at least this way, you know what to do right this time around. consider it skate time.

septal 04-20-2003 10:36 PM

the old post counts are lost forever, right?
there's no way to verify how many someone had, right?

Then i had a billion posts. Now i have, like, 5.

Such is life!

opentocomments 04-20-2003 10:37 PM

well i never go very high in the post game because i only talk when i think i should i dont just go around looking to post in every thread...But that could just be me.

Scipio 04-20-2003 10:52 PM

Post counts don't change who you are, and caring about them doesn't make you any better. I suppose it's just a neat perk for participation.

Great Scott 04-21-2003 02:35 AM

I was finally closing in on that ever elusive avatar. Wouldn't have been half as difficult except I don't have anything intersting to say!

MikeyChalupa 04-21-2003 05:12 AM

On the cusp of 1000...

Guess Osama will have to go back into hiding for a while...

It's not so important to be brilliant

Interesting is in the eye of the beholder. As long as you post something that has some thought behind it you will find that people are interested in what you have to say.
In some ways I like being a noob again. The avatar was never the most important part to me. Having a fresh start for everyone can be a good thing some times.

blindawg 04-21-2003 06:08 AM

ahhhhh. so much work so little time.. Irregardlesss. my 300 plus post weren't much of anything compared to what some of you had.. I'm just glad t have the board back.

bobmsmythe 04-21-2003 06:53 AM

I was just getting to the point where people noticed me.

Sigh.

Bob

fienna 04-21-2003 07:34 AM

i'm just glad to see that the TFP is back up and alive again. I was more proud of my six months then of anything else, having just over 100 or so posts... anyways, i'm glad to be back!

Giant Hamburger 04-21-2003 08:27 AM

Huzzah!
I have returned from the grave.
It seemed only appropriate that my first post back should be here.

Cyd 04-21-2003 08:27 AM

good to have it back tho. Welcome back TFP

ASNstunta 04-21-2003 09:50 AM

Glad to have TFP back up and there are so many posts already.

Daval 04-21-2003 10:40 AM

I was also in the top 25. I look forward to the road back :)

Karby 04-21-2003 11:59 AM

...well i wasn't that far from a noob anyways, so it doesn't really bother me:)

Pheatius 04-21-2003 02:12 PM

Time to make the doughnuts...

liquid_dreams 04-21-2003 02:33 PM

man now i feel really bad i was just shy 100 but hereing about how u guys lost your 3000 posts i feel like a idoit

Met22 04-21-2003 03:37 PM

Starting all over again for the fourth time.
Empty feeling as 3000 goes by the wasteside but TFP has gotten better ever time around. So having seen versions 1,2,3 and now 4 I look forward to building a better home with my bros and sisters. TFP 4 ever.

Never a doubt that Hal is the man.....

Acoustica 04-21-2003 11:45 PM

Sorry, but I'm still getting the gist of what this community is all about. I probably only had a handful of posts before the place had it's trouble. However, I was a little sad when I tried to venture here and everything was lost. However, that helped me to discover the IRC channel, and I found a whole new place. Maybe in time I'll find my niche.

platypus 04-22-2003 04:24 AM

Guess I'll chime in too. *grumble* *grumble* I miss my avatar already. Oh well, nothing like starting with a clean slate.

marcopolo 04-22-2003 05:43 AM

The worst part of this ' starting over ' process is what was lost in many hours of contributions over the past year.

Orionath 04-22-2003 06:32 AM

I was just starting to explore TFP when it borked -- I like that everyone here is so polite and can write in complete sentences. For the most part.
I'm amazed at how prolific some of you guys are. Don't you have jobs to go to?
I doubt that I'll ever be in the top 100 posters, but I enjoy reading the forums and hope to contribute in some small, perhaps irrelevant manner.

Insomniac(uk) 04-22-2003 10:02 AM

A hard drive failure, the system equiliser and all all that.

Oh well back from something around the 30 post mark to one, at least there are plenty in the same boat.

GreenCloud 04-22-2003 08:31 PM

i don't mind losing post counts nearly as much as i do the loss of everyone's awesome posts. there's was always something cool at tfp, no matter how many times i went back, and its sad to think that all those contributions are gone now

gavsarris 04-23-2003 12:34 AM

...

back to square one...oh well

mihal 04-23-2003 04:51 AM

I almost thought that my account was shut down just because I was away from the computer for 2 weeks...

Guess that's not the case.

fizzledorf 04-23-2003 05:00 AM

man, i was a n00b on v.3 and now, still a n00b on v.4 -- reminds me of Monty Python's Holy Graill, when John Cleese is running up the hill to the castle, and every time he's almost there, he gets reset to the bottom of the hill. I now feel his pain... ;)

Wax_off 04-23-2003 07:16 AM

Does everyone derive their validity as a person from their post count? Don't make no sense. If you have something worthwhile to say it shouldn't matter if you're a total rookie.
My $.02

siddhartha 04-23-2003 04:12 PM

Out with the old and in with the new. Most of the time, it's a good thing.

Glad to see everyone is still here.

As if...

Wingnut 04-24-2003 04:52 AM

I am glad we can now all start on equal footing!!

Lucifer 04-24-2003 11:06 AM

I had just nailed 666, uploaded my cool new avatar, gotten a cool title, posted a link in my signature, and my world collapsed. On the other hand it feels cool to be close to BoCo and Phred!

queedo 04-24-2003 06:53 PM

I was close to 1200 but now if you notice they took the numbers off and its only the level we are at now. :(

the edge 04-25-2003 04:47 AM

Let me introduce myself again "the edge"

Long time reader, first time writer

ironman 04-25-2003 12:55 PM

man, and i was sad about my 178!

flesheater 04-26-2003 05:47 AM

Maybe someday I'll be up there with all the TFP legends - now is my chance

Holo 04-26-2003 03:03 PM

No real biggie. I had about 120 posts...won't take long to recoup the loss. Just glad it's back!
