Hello ...
When I sneak the occasional peek at this board I always get the prompt to make that first post and join in the discussions.
During the day I think I get about an average of 46 seconds on the computer before my 4 year old daughter demands that I give her my full attention. I swear she has a sixth sense that warns her when I try and use the computer. So, she is in bed, the dishes are done, lunches are made and my wife is happily occupied doing her 'things'. Now I have time to say ... "Hello!" I am curently a stay at home Dad ... honestly the hardest 'job' I have ever done. I 'used' to be in IT ... 'used' as in once your an IT guy, you can never really get away from it. I am married. I live in Atlantic Canada ... eh, but have no polar bears in my backyard. I have two dogs though I often question why I have two dogs. I am here to dust the cobwebs out of my brain and have some adult interaction that doesn't revolve around pre-schoolers. |

Welcome Greensinoz - I think you're going to like this place. I have one question for you:
Leafs or Habs, other or don't care?

Four is a good age to start getting into computers. We have 4 granddaughters that range in age from 4 to 9. We have 2 iMacs within 4 feet of each other in the spare bedroom. When any of the girls come over, they spend some time playing on the computers. We keep bookmarks on both for them: PBS kids, Treehouse TV, Dressup kids, Discovery kids, etc.
Perhaps if you get another computer setup, you can both play on the computer and maybe say "hello" more often? ---------- Post added at 09:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:34 AM ---------- How are you doing with the rain? I understand there's alot of flooding in Atlantic Canada right now.

Hi there! Welcome!
I have two little boys, but my wife stays home with them. My almost-5-year-old easily navigates to his favorite places (Playhouse Disney, PBS Kids, etc.). And we also have a UB-port computer set that takes him specific places when specific figurines are put in the right places. He loves that one too. But that's enough about pre-schoolers. What else would you like to discuss?

Lots of flooding south west of me. Some of the towns have declared local emergiences. I think the rivers peaked last night, so it should get better for them. Probably not going to have a white Christmas this year. Quote:
I'll jump into the discussions when I can think of something useful to contribute/get over being shocked/decide to go off on a rant. Cheers! |
