our dad used to refer to as son #1, son #2, and son #3

my mind was always on stars and space and science-fiction since I grew up in the sixties apollo-era moon landings, so it was an easy leap to hear it as "sun" rather than "son"

thirdsun is a username I've used around the internet for years

heh, daniel_, it never crossed my mind about Drama.

Must of been one of those Freudian whatchamacallits...

Actually, the day I signed up for TFP, I had to try 3 times because I kept goofing up the registration with typos. On the third attempt, I had to make up a username on the fly and right outside my window was parked a white sports car, which as related elsewhere, is an ongoing fantasy of mine.

In honor of Charlatan's guess, I have finally named my blog Thirdsun from the Rock, because I was born there. So it works, too!
