It is official.

I can't be there this year. My son is leaving for camp on July 2nd. He is going for three weeks and I will likely be out of the country before he returns.

So I will be spending the last weekend with my son.

Well, things aren't looking good for me. I don't think I'll be able to make it. Because of work, I can't really be out of town until mid-September. I was really looking forward to seeing everybody...and eating ribs.

ktspktsp and I will be rolling in late tomorrow night... is there ANY WAY we can convince some last-minute joiners to come? We'd love to meet as many TFP'ers as possible!! (We are just staying until Saturday afternoon, since we're off on a whirlwind camping tour of New England.)

Then again, quality is better than quantity... and I know we have some serious quality going on with the attending TFP'ers already... :thumbsup: so we'll jive with whomever comes. :) But I just wanted to put out one more plea for more people to come!!!

I woke up today wishing it were Friday already. I plan to get there by lunch time on Saturday. Maybe I can get there before you and ktspktsp leave, Abaya. Right now it all depends on the roads. A big chunk of road that I am to travel on is closed due to flooding. They are scheduled to re-open today at noon, so keep your fingers crossed.

edited to add: The road has been reopened. Now let's hope it stays that way.

Tec is down 2 bottles of wine at least(that's what I had, don't know who else had some!!) , innumerable beers and several sundry food items. My feet are blistered, burnt on the bottoms and I'm sunburned. (Next time, if ever, we DRIVE to Lake Ontario).
Abaya and K+allthoseotherletters have trust issues(:lol:) and Tekno has a limit of TWO bottles of champagne a night. And I've come up with a brand new cuddle toy called the Paddyjoe ;)

This was a most excellent party, and I thank each and everyone of the people who attended. We had a great time, Ate well, Drank Well , and I found everyone to be who I expected when we all sat down and talked.The beauty of this forum is in the ability of us all to just be....Us, and as they say,"the proof is in the pudding".
These get togethers are part of the evolution of TFP in my opinion, in that we grow from the unknown entity of the screen to good old fashioned friends by doing so.....its what we are all about, Evolution. There are no Rules, No stipulations, and no expectations, just fun and conversation.
Though My personal experiment in this aspect of TFP Evolution might be coming to an end, others will without a doubt, pick up the gauntlet and take us all to another level of growth....thus the evolution continues unabated.

I can honestly say....I have never worried about anyone who attended my parties from here....EVER. Truly there is no better testament to the quality, and maturity of our membership than "Knowing" physical strangers are great people.....before you ever shake hands. Congratulate yourselves, there is no better place to come on the internet....because of all of you!!!

I had a really great, relaxing time, even after getting lost on the way there and not being able to sleep because of a thunderstorm. Driving home, I had the uncanny feeling that I have met everyone before, and I am sure I will do it again.
