Don't forget that December 25th is actually a birthday...

It was on this day that a great man was born; whose way of life and teachings have inspired millions and helped make the world a better place.

Happy 59th birthday, Jimmy Buffett!

Yea but were you in paradise?

I thought I was the only one to celebrate the birth of my spiritual leader, Jimmy Buffett. Born on Xmas day, 1946. Damn, one of my favorite rockers is almost 60!

I celebrated Jimmy Buffett's birthday on Christmas eve by eating a huge cheeseburger (I wasn't in paradise, though) and listening to a few of his albums.

I would have to consider Robert Heinlein and Ayn Rand to be my spiritual leaders when it comes to politics and business. But Jimmy Buffett is my spiritual leader for relaxation and recreation.

Hey, it was my dad's birthday too.

Yes, my dad is Jesus.

guthmund 12-26-2005 08:00 PM

And I thought it was tough buying for my Dad at Christmas...

I hope you do know that Stranger in a Strange Land was supposively the product of a bet between Heinlein and L. Ron Hubbard about which one of them could create a religion. Heinlein was a better author but Stranger's ending made me regret ever picking that book up.

We had our cheeseburgers yesterday, being that no burger places are open on Christmas.

We went to Five Guys. I highly recommend it. The only dingy, tiny, no table service place that gets a high rating from Zagats.

The Pirate Looks At 60!

I'm reviving this thread to wish Jimmy Buffett a happy 60th birthday!

I had boat drinks. No cheeseburgers. I did play some of his music with the boat drinks and got out my guitar for a few tunes. Fortunately I don't have cabin fever at the moment and didn't shoot any holes in my freezer!!

No. But unlike Jesus, we can actually prove that Jimmy Buffett existed. ;)
