I need to call my son and see if he got any cake. When he was in boot, he couldn't have any because he wasn't yet a Marine.

I just couldn't wait til tomorrow to post this :D heh.

Mine and hubby's anniversary is Saturday...the Marine Corps birthday is the reason we got married when we did...he had a 96er that weekend, and therefore a Friday off, and we had to take advantage when we could. Happy Birthday and Semper Fidelis, USMC!

for those of us who are not in the know, can we have a brief history on the Corps? when/why it was formed?

Leto here's some info, "The Marine Corps started as the "Continental Marines" during the American Revolutionary War, formed by a resolution of the Continental Congress on November 10, 1775, and first recruited at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania." I got this from this website http://www.marinemoms.us/USMC/marinecorps.asp If you choose, Definition of United States Marine Corps, then number 2 in the left hand pain you can get a lot of info on the Creation of the Marine Corps.

Yes happy birthday Marine Corpse! Looking forward to the 50th anniversary celebration for your marriage to the ACLU. Who would have thought the two of you would get together, but now look at you happy with your kids SEALS and the Anti-defamation League. I remember when you were a wee squirt, daffy and cowlicked. They said you wouldn't amount to anything but you've done alright for yourself.
