English Genius
You scored 100% Beginner, 92% Intermediate, 86% Advanced, and 80% Expert! I'm may know the answer, but that doesn't mean I always use the right one when typing. While taking the test, like 10 seconds after I got the Than/Then question right, I used the wrong one in chat. |
Pah. One wrong on each the advanced and expert levels. Stupid mistake on stationery (chose stationary, but it's late so I forgive myself ;) ).
Good to know that my enormous ego regarding my verbal abilities is well-supported by a test. :D Interestingly enough, most people in my demographic screwed up more on the beginner level than any of the higher ones. |
This is the type of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put.

I "missed" one question. Could somebody please explain why "me" would have been the appropriate choice in the sentence "He went to the banquet with Naomi and me." I'm pretty sure if the first person singular pronoun comes directly after a conjunction that is preceeded by a noun being paired with the pronoun, that it is always most appropriate to choose "I," regardless of what else is in the sentence.

I just cut out the "Naomi and" part to figure it out. "He went to the banquet with me" is correct, whereas "he went to the banquet with I" sounds awful. :) |
Advanced
You scored 85% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 86% Advanced, and 73% Expert! not bad i guess. |

You scored 92% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 80% Expert! Higher than 27% on Beginner Higher than 44% on Intermediate Higher than 79% on Advanced Higher than 57% on Expert So much for my purported facility with my native language - didn't crack the 90% barrier in Expert. *sighs* Edited because I just crawled into the 80% barrier in Expert, which really should have been what I said in the first place. *doh - slaps forehead* |
To all you geniuses....I hate you!!!!
Advanced You scored 92% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 73% Expert! You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels' questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don't use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score. The sad part is, I'm a writer. I should have been in the genius catagory. |
hmmm 100% on everything! I got teased in middle school because I always got 100% on grammar tests.
|
92/100/100/93
I disagreed with a few of what I assumed to be the crrect answers and put what I thought was right. If I had put what I thought they wanted, I'd probably hit 100 on all of them, but I'm stubborn. |
85% Beginner,
92% Intermediate, 73% Advanced, 100% Expert! Odd  |
mark me down as another run-of-the-mill "English Genius".
|
I think this thing is broken. Then again I did rush through it and it crashed on me three times. Did question #31 disturb anyone else?
Advanced You scored higher than 5% on Beginner You scored higher than 47% on Intermediate You scored higher than 7% on Advanced You scored higher than 38% on Expert |
