I'm very sorry Rosa Parks died. But I do want to say that the user name Elphaba caught my eye while I was trolling throught the topics. I just started reading Wicked and I had to post a comment here. Excellent book so far.
Again, very sorry about Rosa...

They don't make 'em like that anymore. I can't imagine anyone doing something like what Rosa Parks did... or, if they did, if anyone would even pay attention or care. Things just don't matter the way they used to... dunno if that's good or bad.

Times like these, I wonder what it would be like if everyone had courage and convictions like her.
In peace. There is a party in heaven tonight.

Let's hope there will be others to rise up and take the place of all the leaders of the Civil Rights era... They've been dying off one by one, but thus far I haven't seen anyone rising up to replace them and continue their work.

This was the headline on fark.com:
"Civil rights heroine Rosa Parks dead at 92. Will ride in the front seat on the bus to Heaven." Brought a tear to my eye, then I read the talkback where I had to laugh when I read this: "Whitey gets to go to Heaven in a chauffeured limo, and Rosa is stuck on some slow, nasty bus?"

I have always admired and supported those who face opposition and stand up for what they believe in, without violence, without ignorant words and actions - intelligent words and education, temperance fired with indignation is exactly what has engraved moments into the history books. Our ability to witness, record, remember and reteach are exactly the keys that will keep the memory and the beauty of Rosa Parks and her actions alive forever.
RIP Rosa Parks, you're forever a great woman in life as well as in death. You are a heroine. Thank you.
