Drudge Report - The epitome of quality, unbiased journalism
Normally I don't bother with Drudge, but I was curious to see what he had to say about recent events (more for a laugh than anything else,) and stopped by his site. I was greeted with something that I might have expected from WorldNetDaily, but I would have put beyond even Drudge in the absurdity department.
This is by far the worst headline I've ever read. Anyone care to try to top it? |

MrSelf - I don't think its that bad, not that I could give a rats ass what Hanoi Jane does, but I think it was just to show how a major world event keeps spoiling Fonda's publicity stunts. Its no less trite than anything else about celebrities.

Oof. The linked article (foxnews.com) doesn't even mention the Pope, so that's just pure Drudge.
/aside Have you seen the SMUDGE REPORT (Part of the Vast Liberal Conspiracy to Help Heal the Sick, Feed the Hungry and Clothe the Naked)? Ratbastid pointed to it in his blog. Equally beyond-the-pale headlines, but at least they don't mean it. "BUSH CUTS VACATION SHORT SO HE CAN START MAKING THINGS WORSE!" "FEDS RESPONSE TO NEW ORLEANS DISASTER -- SUDDENLY IT'S CLEAR WHY THE MESS IN IRAQ IS TAKING SO LONG!" "REPUBLICANS WANT YOU TO RETIRE AT 69 RATHER THAN TAX THEIR RICH DONORS!"

I understood the headline, or pull line or whatever it is.
Fonda is getting pushed off the front pages by events out of the ordinary (death of Pope and biggest hurricane damage in decades). She just can't get any traction in the media this week, and if you miss out on the week of release of the book, you're in trouble.

Since I've seen Drudge nail the republicans quite a bit, I never understood the lefts whine about it other than BJ sour grapes.
It may be yellow journalism but its equal opportunity.
