NSFW threads and Avatars...
 

Just wondering.. why doesn't nudity in avatars make theads NSFW? Not that I'm against nudity in avatars... I'm just wondering...

edit: If only I had looked at members playground first and read "annoying avatars" thread I would have seen that you "turn off avatars at work because of nudity" Well Guess I'll let this thread die a horrible death...

Well, let's be honest guy.
The whole site is not really safe for work.
It has much adult material on here.
This is not one you would like the bosses or other nosy people to wander onto.

Not that I'm discouraging you, come to the TFP as much as you want.
I also come on at work, if I have to do longterm projects afterhours.
It's just that as an adult, it is up to your discretion.

The moral of the story here is to quit your job.

Maybe I will sound stupid when asking this, but what does NSFW stand for? 500+ posts and I still have not figured it out...

NSFW = Not Safe For Work

Personally I love the NSFA (not safe for anybody) acronym. Although there are only two famous photos for which that can be properly used.

Can you guess what they are?

alot of people view the tfp from work with avitars and pictures turned off. if you feel that some of the things that may load on the tfp aren't appropriate for your workplace, i highly suggest you do the same. both options are in the user control panel.

And just a note - it's YOUR responsibility if you are viewing this site at work. It is not our responsibility to make sure avatars are SFW so that you can view threads at work or anything like that. You know the risk you take in viewing at work - and there are some things you can do about it like phred noted. But ultimately, know that if you can't view at work because people have avatars of naked people, that's not our problem. No reason to censor the site into something it's not when people can just turn avatars off or start viewing from home instead.

Sometimes it's nice to work at home. :)

Actually, I don't view the site from work, I just didn't know that avatars could be turned off until a few minutes after posting. I was just curious why posts were marked NSFW while avatars that had nudity didn't.. but since you have to turn them off, I guess that they DO make the thread nsfw.

on the tubgirl and goatse topic.. those are pretty sick, but there are more than 2 that are NSFA...

Where I work, noting is SFW. I don't even send personal email very often. And certainly nothing I wouldn't want seen by everyone. Big Brother is watching.
