gotta share this...
Long story short, I am generally a very happy, busy guy. My employer screwed up sending me two paychecks, which obviously is not good.
There I am, on my way to work on the local lightrail, thinking about how am I going tp pay my rent and insurance, due on monday? The first things to really stress me out in several months. I was fairly sure I wasn't showing any signs physically of worry, but a lady got on and sat across from me. A few moments later she got up, and sat right in front of me, looking me in the eyes. She looked like a regular lady, out for a nice day at the zoo. I took off my headphones, and she said: "Jesus loves you!" My first reaction was that she was going to try to get me to join some church, but she sat back down in her own seat, leaving me alone. She never gave me a pamphlet, or said this to ANYONE else. After thinking about my situation, and the the way she said it, I was shocked. I am not expressing any religious opinions here, but I have to admit out of every day, every year, she picked this one to say that to me? That's a little weird... that is not something that happens every day... in fact... for me... never. I spoke with my manager and found a money solution which works perfectly, I knew it would... so everything works out fine. Yet what happened still echoes in mind. Not the fact that "Jesus loves me", but the fact that this too coincidental to be pure coincidence. How do I explain that? |
I can live with 'Jesus loves you,' but his love will not make you any more successful than you make yourself. Besides.. if she's talking about the Jesus I'm thinking of, that dude is 2000 years dead and has no actual power over any of what happens today... only his illusion does.
On further thought, doesn't this kinda reinforce that article that sixate posted about Jesus being gay? |
Sounds like she was trying to give you something positive to think about. I suspect your basic 'tude was more evident than you thought.
|
I guess.

reading a person's inner feelings can sometimes be exceedingly simple.
she was kind enough to embarress herself and tell you something that would make your day better (in theory). so even if you're an atheist or Satanist, you should appreciate the gesture. there are plenty of good people in the world. we are just careful where we tread due to being singled out and bugged. 'no good deed goes unpunished'. and yes. He does love you. :) |

Thats a nice story, you gotta think it does kinda take balls to go up to a compleate stranger now or days and say something like that. I'm happy you got over your hard times.

.
TaLoN. what do you call a sequence of events that are although planned or arranged, but seems accidental? =) . |
I don't think it was coincidence. You most likely were subtely conveying your worry / anxiety, and she was nice enough to try to reassure you that you would be alright, or something. :P I think it was a nice gesture, even if you aren't Christian. More people need to take time to do little things like that, though it doesn't need to be religiously affiliated of course.

Good story, and a good finish.
Even though you think he might be dead, his thoughts and ideals prevail, they are good, and as a race of beings, he fulfills the need in all of us to believe in something higher, more powerful. Look around you, and you will see so many people that REALLY need a leader. We are the flock, and He is our shephard. If you really look......... |
My take on it is, even if you don't believe in Jesus the fact that another human being seemed concerned abt your mental attitude had to be up lifting. Of course that is a sad commentary on today's society.

To paraphrase the basic gist of the posts here;
It only means exactly what you take out of it... |
I see it as though Jesus was using this woman to speak through so He could reach you. Then, when you made the right decision about the double-checks, He made sure everything worked out for the best.

all along the lines of what I am thinking... all I know is there is something out there that I am not aware of...
what is the true question. |
