Looking for the vid with advanced holographic tech showing a helicopter flying around
Hello, I am trying to find that video demonstrating some advanced 3D or holographic technology. It had a tank or humvee or something going around a miniature town or something and then showed a helicopter flying around the auditorium. I saw this last year I think. Anyone know what vid I'm talking about and where I can download it?

Ah, I know what you're talking about. That video was insane, the holographs would interact in real time with real objects. I'll be looking for it now.

I saw something similar a couple of years ago. It was a car in a show room, in full 3-d holographic display. People would walk up to it thinking it was real, but it wasn't really there. If anyone finds either of these videos link them

it wasn't hologram, it was real-time rendered CGI... could interact with it's environment using a system that mapped the terrain it was on... i know what you're talking about... also has the guy holding the wand that he makes look like a flower and a light saber.
still insanely impressive though. realt-time perfectly rendered 3d graphics... sweet |

Here is the one that analog was refering to: http://www.alldumb.com/item/12038/
It's pretty awesome, remember that the flower and other objects only appear "in camera."

THAT'S IT!!!! I was watching Paycheck the other day and when the guy improved the 3D monitor so that when he compared the old model with his model and he took away his model and left the monitor-less 3D chick still there, it reminded me of this video. That's so awesome. Just give it a few more years and we'll have this stuff all over the place hopefully. And just think what the pr0n industry can do with this technology. |

Yeah but like analog said, it's not a hologram. The flower and other objects only appear on the monitor or screen, not to the eye. It's no different from a lightsabre in StarWars except that it is being rendered in real time.
Cool yes, but it's nothing like the tech you are describing in Paycheck.

Awesome!
Seeing those little tanks swarm all over the table reminded me of that scene in Robocop where they demonstrate the big enforcer robot only to have it run out of control and shoot the executive. I kept waiting for that helicopter to start shooting at the audience for real, with the presenter pleading for calm!
