I haven't played in ages, but http://www.isketch.net/ used to be a lot of fun - it's an online Pictionary-like game...

Psychobabble on pop-cap is also a lot of fun --it's an online game that y ou play wiht more than 2 people -- basically you are given a bunch of random words (like like those refridgerator magnets) and you ahve tocreate a sentence out of those words... players vote on the best sentence and you can't vote for yours-- plus there's a chat feature (sometimes you get the idiots who just want tocyber but if you get in a good room, it's a lot of fun)

A boardgame? Well, while not free, Cheap Ass Games has games that are...well, cheap.

Here's the website:

Cribbage is a simple but addictive game for two people. One of my favorites.

Yeah, dude! Kill Doctor Lucky is a great game, one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure that can play with two.

There are a lot of strategy games that need three players, is the only thing. lurkette and I love games like that, but we always have to find a third person.

There's a game called "La Strata" that's pretty fun two-players, and a quick play. "Cathedral" is good.

Ok, in case you didn't know, there's been a whole new generation of very good boardgames to come into existence in the last decade or so (often called "German" games). They aren't free, but you might still be interested.

Here's a short introduction to why German games are so great: http://www.geocities.com/yahugaming/German.html

Here's a site with all the information in the world about all sorts of games, especially german games:

OK, but you say you *really* don't have any money? Here's a bunch of links to free print-and-play games:

Go or chess.

I'm not sure what you're loking for in an online downloadable game. If you two are playing in the same room then a Go program might be more difficult to find than a Chess program. That said, games.yahoo.com (as mentioned above), has an excellent Go java client.

Go: 3 000 years old and still pop culture.
