a) I've known many people who have gone to Chiropractors, some with luck, some without. b) A babies bones are too soft for forceps to do harm to the skeletal structure. Forceps are bad for other reasons, but I assure you that forceps are NOT the most traumatic thing a newborn goes through leaving the birth canal. c) Even the quackiest of chiropractors have no data to back up adjustments preventing "major illness, affliction, trauma, disease" or anything of the nature. While there are several symbiotic relationships within the human physiology, trying to convince someone that an alignment issue could cause affliction or disease? Seriously! Name a disease caused by alignment (and NOT the other way around, where a disease CAUSES misalignment, like varying degress of osteoperosis). d) I've NEVER been to a chiropractor. I'm 28, have had a large variety of sporting injuries and injuries during training with the military. I'm sure I've done plenty to my body, and you know what? I've also never had a "major illness, affliction, trauma, disease" or anything else that wasn't DIRECTLY a result of an injury (I assume this would fall under trauma, right?) e) If your "way of life" involves adjustments, that's great. But it surely isn't for everyone. Thousands of people believe in homeopathic medicine? Does that mean it's right for everyone? But even those that do often take GREAT care in giving anything to a newborn. Newborn human babies are, as most of us should've learned in Natural Sciences class, the least survivable newborn of any mammal (and possibly of most creatures overall). Hell, human adults are barely capable of keeping themselves alive without the constant aid of stickers and tags telling them not to put bags over their heads or use their blow dryer in the bathtub. My overall point it, to each their own, but I think taking a baby to a chiropractor is akin to taking one to a voodoo healer. Actually, I'd probably take mine to a voodoo healer first. |

would someone in this thread PLEASE look up epiphisial plates!!!!!! Babies don't need chiropractors, there bones are still growing, and as stressful as birth sounds, the baby is built to handle it, with movable unlocked plates in the head, and very flexible joints. I must say I'd never even think of taking my child to a chiropractor when he's born, that's just insane!
