Let me see your keyring?
My keyring couldn't possibly be more boring right now if I tried.
That's it. Car key, car remote, mailbox key (we live in a condo), and house key. I'm looking to put something else on the ring, I need something that fits in my pocket, so light and small is good. Something 'fidgety' would be especially good. Since Googling for keyrings turned out to be a pretty futile task, I turn to the TFP for inspiration. Please post your keyrings, and give a little explanation of anything interesting you have on there.

Since I started with my new company my keyring is greatly reduced... we have push button locks so no keys...
Currently I have the following on my ring (a carbiner) - House key - bike key - Vespa key - Vespa lock key - Vespa glove box key That's it. I rarely drive the car so when I do I just take my wife's key.

I can't find my digital camera to take and upload a pic right now, but my keyring is this:
I find it oddly disturbing and fascinating. The best part is rolling the belly around with the little fetus in it.

Door key for my house
Door key for my mother's house (we're not talking right now, so I probably don't REALLY need this one) Car key (has integrated remote lock in the key handle) Supermarket loyalty points saving key fob thing Leatherman keyring multitool Tiny screwdriver thingy for mending glasses (and emergency toothpick ) Blue LED torchy-thing Set of keys to get into work (three main ones - I've not used them for a couple of months) Set of keys for filing cabinets for work (four of these, also not used for a couple of months) Magnetic keyfob for setting/unsetting security alarm at work (guess what? not used that for a couple of months either) Free plasic looy ribonny givaway of supreme takiness from my car's favourite service place (so you can hold the keys in your teeth - obviously) each set of related ey s (i.e "Houses", "car", "work", "things", "stuff") are on sepparate split rings and all of THESE are threaded on a braided wire loop (about 5cm dia) from Muji. I used to keep things on my keyring that I didn't need, but I've got over that now.

As for mine - Escort key and bike lock key on one end of a purple clippy thing that detaches a second ring. This is so I can take one set for one car or another set for another car. Cutlass key, trunk key, and house key on the other end. Also included are two clips on each end to clip to a purse or belt loop or whatever. On the Cutlass end I have a silver cartoonish angel figure with a wand in her hand and a heart on her dress. I change the fob to fit my mood really. One that I really loved was a heavy brass ring used for tack for horses. I got it from a guy who custom made halters, harnesses, and things. It always felt warm and smooth and the brass color was pleasing. It was by far my favorite.

My keyring is a caribiner (for no particular reason other than it's bright purple and easy to spot) with my car key, bike key, and house key on it.
When I was in high school I had a thermometer keyring like this: It's meant to go on your zipper but I always used it as my keyring as I only had a house key. Next time I'm home I should take a picture of my dad's keyring. Holy crap it's huge, and it keeps growing. My dad's a high school principal, and on top of all the keys for his school, he keeps all our car keys (4) on there, house key, PO box key, etc. His keyring has always been enormous, and he's super-protective of it. He keeps a seperate keyring handy at all times in case he needs to loan one of us a car key just so he won't have to give us all his keys.

A keychain that says "I used to be disgusted, now I'm just amused" A keychain that says "Being sexy is a hard job but somebody has to do it" A keychain that says "The more I drink the better you look" (My girlfriend bought these for me, except for the drinking one!) A Smith's Fresh Values card A house key My grandma's house key A key to a lock I used to wear around my neck An old school handcuff key And a Li'l Homie that's really dirty and missing a foot and has a poop stain on its diaper that one of my best friends gave me and told me to keep forever! |

Over here, unless you're a locksmith and at work you'd be likely to be arrested for "going equipped" if you went out with a set of lock-picks. That said, I used to have a lockpick keyring when I was a kid - I could open any locker at school and most bike locks. Oddly enough I never used it to steal stuff - I just liked the challenge of beatig the hardware.

Biners are great. The little ornamental ones work well as keychains, as they're small enough to fit in your pocket, you can fidget with them and it makes it easy to take keys on and off. For example, in my apartment building, I park underground and have a key that opens the door to the garage from a box on the wall. I don't haeve to turn off my ignition to open it; I just take off the building keys, open the door then pop them back on.
My keychain is just my car keys and keys to my apartment right now, as we use RFID swipe cards at work to get in and out. |

I travel light-1 keyring has my car fob and key(it's from Hawaii from my mother in law) and the green one holds the house key. I keep them seperate so I can hide the housekey in case I'm not here when the kids get home. I used to have a really cool watch keyring-it was a PT and the top flipped up to reveal the watch-but I lost that*sniff* It was a gift. I think whoever found those keys probably just took it home, since I know where I lost it and it was never turned in.

My keyring has my car key, house key, mailbox key I've never used, and storage unit key. It also has a small leather thingie that can hold 2 pictures, a sterling silver pear which is frequently mistaken for a pair of testicles, and all of this is attached to a grenade pin.
