A big ol' Thank You.
I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone with your generous donations and your offers of help. I have received so many PMs that I fear that I haven't been able to respond to all of them. So, if I'm missing you, I'm sorry! Thank you to everyone who donated. The TFP will DEFINITELY be around for a while longer. Thank you to everyone who offered to look over and even help distribute my resume. Aside from you actually hiring me yourself, what more could I possibly ask for? I am so grateful to everyone who took it upon themselves to be responsible for this community.
Ya know, I like to say that this is my site. And yeah, it is. But this is YOUR community and you guys show a tremendous amount of respect for eachother and to me. There are a billion other places to chat on the internet; thanks for pledging your time, your input and even your money to the TFP. I am so proud of this place, I DO have it listed on my resume.

I'm glad you're feeling better about the whole situation. Hal, as usual, we're the ones who should be thanking you--without you we wouldn't HAVE this fantastic community to play around in. We follow our leader (and leaders, nod to the mods)--and you make a great one!

Hey, it's my alternate reality. I really appreciate it's existence even though I haven't had a lot of time for interaction. Keep it coming and luck on the job thing.

Halx,
I'm so sorry things were looking so grim for you and delighted that the crisis was averted. The Universe looks after those that follow their passion and you are absolutely worthy of receiving the bounty of good fortune. I truly wish I had the money to spare to donate as this site is such a blessing to so many of us. I think about it often. I know how that infamous road is paved, and as soon as the IRS stops breathing down my neck and I have two nickels to rub together, I want to share some of my good fortune with you and this amazing site. I hope that doesn't sound lame or insincere...I really do want to help. The best I can do at the moment is to send prayers out for your success and for you to find the perfect job. You will. I have no doubt.

Oh man, I remember when you posted that thing up, and it scared the crap out of me. Well, I'm expecting to come into some money this summer, so I'm gonna donate, because, DAMNIT, I LOVE THIS PLACE!

I had a thought, when the "donate or else" message went up. What about some way to see, right on the front page or somewhere equally visible, the current cash status of the site? Does TFP have its own bank account? If not, how bout opening one and keeping us apprised of the balance on a regular basis? That would really empower the community to keep things paid up and would prevent it having to come to a crisis level before action gets taken.

I second the idea of ratbastid's. I think it would be useful, and then we wouldn't have any more (hopefully) doom & gloom type posting from Halx.
