Michael Jackson
It's funny for something that has dominated the news -that nobody has posted anything about Michael Jackson yet. For the record I think he is untalented. I mean I am very open minded about music but his is formulaic tripe.
So now his trial is almost over and I wonder what others think about him. http://www.faz.net/imagecache/{6D5FB...4}picture.jpeg Okay, I am slightly amused by pictures of this lonesome protestor. Do you think he's guilty? I'm honestly not sure. There's been enough written about this trial to fill several phonebooks. If you must review it look here: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&lr...nG=Search+News I'm curious if being a fan of his music influences your guilty -not guilty opinion. |
Not that any of us have the information that the jury does.
Monday-morning jury-foreman? Hmm... |
There is no option for "I don't like Michael Jackson's music and I don't know whether he is guilty or innocent but I think he is a complete freak regardless."

I like his music... He is very talented, or rather was very talented.
In this instance, I don't beleive that he is guilty (the first time, I'm pretty sure he was guilty) but I'm pretty certain that he will get convicted purely on his freakishness. The guy just seems like a mentally disturbed person who's trying to relive the childhood he didn't have and is just very misunderstood as a person. |
Don't listen to his music, and he seems as guilty as hell to me.
I like the 'documentaries' and 'trial re-enactments' that have been on tv recently about the whole deal, they make me laugh, and cry, the former causing the latter. Not that i'm biased :) |
Here's another picture of the guy.
http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/pix/jackson_su...cp_7357813.jpg And here he is keeping vigil from the early days: http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-imag...ant_vigil3.jpg I think he is more fascinating than Michael himself. I wonder if he can moon walk. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...lt-384x257.jpg [edit -I've seen this solo guy in a number of pictures since the trial began -just added more] |
I don't know if he is innocent, however in this case I think he is not guilty, if he was it would likely have been settled out of court.
|
I try to turn my head from the tvs at the gym when they are doing reports on him (the lovely ladies working out look much better anyway). He just reminds me of a horrid lurching nightmare. If you replaced the shadow on the wall in "The Exorcist" with an image of him, I would be just as frightened if not more so. I wish I could honestly say "Michael Jackson who?"
|
From what I've heard, the only evidence that he molested those kids comes from the boys themselves. The reports have made them look like little liars. You need actual witnesses to a crime, not he said/she said nonsense. The boys may be telling the truth but unless there is some sort of physical evidence it doesn't mean shit.
|
Unfortunately there's just as much evidence that the Judge will not allow to be presented.
Michael Jackson with a "flushed face" and wearing boxers asking his bodyguard to go to his car and get the Vaseline out of his vehicle in the driveway. The judge said this was circumstantial and would bias the jury, but nonetheless.. I'm 95% sure he's guilty. There's all sorts of corroborating stories: Another guard admitting he witnessed Michael performing oral sex on a boy in a bathroom in Neverland. I like his music too! I was watching an interview with a CourtTV reporter who's sat in on the trial and his impression is that the conspiracy charges are too convoluted for the jury to vote guilty on, but he's certain he'll be convicted on the providing alcohol to minors and molestation charges. I tend to agree after listening to his description of the court room. |
Sad, but a part of me wants him found guilty just to see him cry like a bitch. Now if there is enough evidence to find him guilty or if he is... I have no idea. I've not followed the trial at all. And I hate that this trial gets so much attention for some reason.
One thing that I am concerned with is, if he is guilty and is found not guilty I think that there is no chance that he will ever be prosecuted again basically giving him a free ticket to keep doing this. But again that is all bsed on speculation on my part. |
whoa, i never heard anything about a guard seeing him blowing kids. I can understand why the Vaseline thing was thrown out though.
|
Why doesn;t someone shoot the bastard already, and make the world a better place
|
What I don't understand -- well, I do sort of, but what the hell goes thru the mind of a parent allowing their child to spend time in this man's bedroom. Maybe I'm more than a tad prudish, but there have been allegations over his escapades for a decade... WHY risk it? What kind of parent puts their child into a situation where there might be trouble? What kind of parent would leave t heir child with a person who has been accused of sexual molestation.. Ok , he wasn't guilty the first time... but...

the "person" is a caricature of himself...

I haven't been able to look at him without laughing ever since his whiny TV appearance in which he complained about them "photographing [my] penis."
Along those lines, it would go a long ways toward making me think he's innocent if it was established that any little GIRLS ever spent the night at Neverland. |
I'm so very tired of the publicity surrounding this case. I don't think he's particularly talented - he writes trite pop that, while catchy, isn't particularly interesting. His biggest selling point is that he was a child star who turned into a popular singer (and excellent dancer, gotta admit) who then got to be famous for just being a freak. I don't care whether he is guilty or not, frankly. I don't see any reason for this to be so widely covered - it's just another legal case in a sea of legal cases that have no bearing on my life or anyone else's who's not involved. I have to roll my eyes when I see on MSNBC.com that they'll break into broadcasts when the verdict is read. It's not like it's the Rodney King verdict. Sheesh.
|
He disgusts me.
I think he's freakin' creepy. And yes, he WAS talented. GUILTY. |
I believe that Michael Jackson is going to be found guilty. I don't think he ever crossed the line with any of the kids staying at his ranch. But the problem is too much big money is betting on his fall. Michael was walking a fine financial line for 5 years but now with this case the hedge funds smell blood and they will go after him. He is living of a loan based on collateral debt for his songs and also the bettles song. A lot of people are going to make good money on him going to jail. That's why it is going to happen.
|
to me Michael Jackson is guilty as all hell. I have no evidence of this, but the guy just creeps me out.
|
Man, looks like I'm the only one who voted that I like his music and he is innocent.
And, COME ON, you really gotta make fun of that fat guy? Seriously, that's immature, I'd expect more from you, TFP members... |
I give the fat guy credit. He's standing up for his beliefs, and even though I don't agree with him, I still give him a lot of respect.

His music was the bomb. Now he's a washed up freak. I belive it's more than obvious he was abused in one fasion or another as a child himself. I'd wager it was sexual abuse, moreso than physical violence. You can see where he basically stopped his mental development age; at that of an adolescent child. Throw in the amount of money and fame, the amazingly abnormal situation he lived his life in, and you get a guy that's profoundly disturbed. Did he abuse kids? I bet he did. Does he understand what he did wrong? I sincerly doubt he fully does. No more than a 4 year old understands matches are bad. He needs to be kept away from kids, and he needs intensive therapy. It's all very sad. |
i actually don't mind his stuff from the 80s. i think it's pretty hard to make music that has such broad appeal. there is a lot of bad pop (see: kanye west imitators, "rock" bands on top 40 stations, modern country) but i think he put out some enduring records. most of his semi-recent work was pretty worthless, though.
can't say if he's guilty. i've tried to ignore this as much as possible; i'm wondering what the next distraction will be. |
I completely agree with those people here who say that his music WAS awesome, though he is bloody creep/weirdo. I've got no doubt in my mind that he is guilty - i wish they would just hurry up and end it.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about it. I really couldn't care less. I was never into his music or his dancing and to be honest everytime I see a broadcast about it, I change the channel; especially if Nancy Grace is covering it. (What a biased journalist  ) On another note, Making fun of the fat guy (who incedentally isn't fat as far as I can tell) is pretty lame and takes away the real reason behind this thread. |
I liked the Thriller era. What he has done since hasn't peaked my interest. I do however think that he is guilty. Although, I don't keep up with any of the happenings in this trial. He is a complete freak in all aspects of life.

Anyways my belief is that the place is a circus and this guy is a one-man freak show. Would it be funnier if I made fun of the puppet lady? http://www.mytelus.com/news_images/c...al/e033055.jpg http://photo.sohu.com/20050310/Img224617183.jpg |

Michael Jackson was good in his "Thriller" days, but since then he has completely lost it. Which makes it very difficult to tell whether he is guilty or not. If he was a least a little sane, it might be easier to tell, but for all I know he could think that it is "ok" to sleep in the same bed with little boys. Anyways, innocent or guilty, the family of the boy is in this for the money...why else would they call the lawyer from the other case before they called the police??? Making money off your son's torment...it's a damn shame.

Thats probably his fat gut in the bottom right hand corner  |
He may very well still consider himself a boy, and so playing with other boys justifiable. And he has sufficient money that he can be 'protected' from letting this kind of stuff get out.
I think the man has issues, largely related to immense, overpowering, unimaginable wealth and success and being surrounded by people telling him what he wants to hear so they can chip off a chunk of his fortune. And they have... as I hear it he's pretty broke at the moment. But frankly, I could care less about his problems and do NOT see why it is front page, every news-site news. I hate modern news media. |
I like some of his music and I think that he will be found guilty of giving an intoxicated beverage to a minor and innocent of the other charges. I think he's a creep, but I've seen no hard evidence from honest sources that suggests that he actually molested children. I'm sure he slept in bed with them, but I'm not convinced that he engaged in any sexual activity.
|
I think he's innocent, but I wouldn't let my children spend the night at his place. And I doubt that any parent who actually cares about his/her child's safty would at this point, regardless of whether Jacko's innocent or not.
And for the record, I don't care for his music. |
a 40-year-old person sleeping with children under 16 is not legal anyplace i've heard of in the united states, and it also has deleterious effects on those children...
