Reading and animal rescue. In the course of the latter, I have met some really nice ladies - got called out to capture a peahen that escaped at nearby docks once. Took me three months - they have the advantage of flight. I go out as eyes when there are horses that have been reported as in distress. Last call out the horses were okay, but just down the road I passed a field with this big showy cob strutting up and down the fence - mares were the other side of it. Every step he took his skin came out of his ribs and fell back in again. They were all removed within a week, and its nice to know I have made a difference.
Mostly small elderly dogs - although nearly got evicted last year after a pair of mastiffs were dumped on me - only supposed to have two - but the mastiff is being trained to do things like lend me his shoulder if I fall and pick up my stick, so legaly he isnt a dog any more. His brother we rehomed after he had been castrated - you cant let them fall into wrong hands or used to increase the unwanted dogs problem. I wouldnt have chosen him to be honest, he is a big soft boy - looks remarkably like a butler as dogs go. Happen its that solemn face, he is very big and loving. Adores my son. |

Because it is a diametric change from the 'get it right, here and now' work requirements of stage performing, or seeing psychotherapy clients. Yes, I have to be precise in picking and exposing the moment, but after that, I am in 'frozen time' rather than real-time. I am in Photoshop, able to take breaks whenever I choose, and the final product can be presented regardless of how I feel at the time. "There it is - have a look" gives me the joy of sharing, delivering the goods without my needing my motor to be running at full pelt. Eg, I'm not a happy bunny today, because I've got a badly sprained ankle, sore throat, and Game of Thrones has finished its first series. But I can still go, "There it is - have a look". Here's some of my china collection, one of my orchids, an honourable ballroom dancing opponent, and a couple of local street shots
