Can someone help me find out where this is?

It's SO gorgeous, and if it's a reasonable drive for a weekend I want to go see this place.

TIA.

the_marq 05-19-2005 11:49 AM

Uhh, it's a church.

But seriously, where did you come across this pic? I see it's linked to photobucket, but do you have any other back ground?

Sue 05-19-2005 11:49 AM

I know it's a church . . . thanks.

If I had any more background to this picture I would have found it out myself. That's why I'm posting it here.

Is the picture hosted in your account on photobucket or someone's elses?

I think it's really cool that you find beauty in that picture/place have the devotion to consider finding it. Best of luck! ;)

Sweetpea 05-19-2005 01:24 PM

Well . . . this is quite amusing to me :) It's like we're doing a background check on a building . . . :hmm:

Where did you get the photo from originally Sue would be my first question? . . . it is beautiful.

not enough information....

looks like any small church in many small towns

the_marq 05-19-2005 01:36 PM

I don't think we're supposed to ask any more questions guys... I already got slapped for doing that.

Hmm...no luck. I couldn't find "marisajeanb". Must be a private account.

Sorry.

Good luck!

streak_56 05-19-2005 02:52 PM

Hmm... to me it looks like the church that the used in "the patriot." The one where the british burn it down with all the people inside. Really beautiful though.

I can't find a good picture, and I'm on the wrong side of CT to drive and take a picture (maybe someone closer can check for me,) but that appears to be the First Baptist Church in Newport, RI

while it's a bit blurry one would easily say that it's not the same place.

Hmm, I was only able to find photos, and there was some small church I visited there that reminded me of it. Looks like I'm too late anyway.

Looked up the pics file name. Found a blog with it and the person said it's in Florida and is with other old buildings. Found a site for Florida's museums. Looked at the museum sites that would have old buildings like "Yesteryear Village".

Nice detective work, Lou.

Holdem Dvorak 05-20-2005 11:43 PM

Someone Call John Anderton! Can anyone find me a computer like that?

Kid_Karysma 05-21-2005 09:52 AM

Wow research via the internet. Amazing.

I must applaud iamnormal for doing it though. I read this post and thought, "If you really want to find it, do it your damn self." Guess I'm just a bastard like that.

samiam 05-22-2005 07:21 AM

I am always amazed at what a collective can accomplish. Amazing research!
