i think my biggest pet peeve is when people laugh at the stupid commercials at the beginning of movies....the ones that everyone has seen a thousand times but still errupt with laughter.

Yeah I really hate it when people lie, and I know the truth. My HR guy does this all time. What really sucks is that he does it to other people at work. But we can't do anything because he is HR.

I posted a quote by Goethe earlier which addresses my problems with ignorance, which ties in with a deeper-seated intolerance. I really get upset with people who talk down to me. I've been thinking about this topic a lot for the past few days and find myself coming back to this same mind-thread. Very few people know who I am, where I come from, and what my life experiences are. I share these things with those who are, in my opinion and experience, worthy of my respect. I guess what it boils down to is, if you haven't walked my walk, take a chill pill and relax; life is too short to get excited about things you know nothing about...

People who say "expecially" instead of "especially."

One of my pet peeves is seeing quality music (I am talking real music like Benny Goodman, Solomon Burke, Albert King, etc) encoded with a shitty codec like MP3 at a low bitrate.

LAZY PEOPLE. The ones that when you greet them and say "What have you been doing? They say "As little as possible." Don't they realize that life can be so much more fun if they willing to put some effort in?

Humanity in general pisses me off. I mean, jesus. We're always hating on each other and constantly overpopulating the planet that supports us and is probably the only one that can for 1,000,000 light years. I mean, god damn, how hard is it to put on a condom? Or take a damn pill?

Oh, and cell phones get me REALLY pissed off. I don't quite know why yet, but I blatently REFUSE to call people on their cell phones. I'll be out riding my bike, be in the middle of the boonies, get a flat, and walk home rather than call someone.

I'm sure this topic has come up routinely throughout TFP's existance, but I just have to express my own.

I hate those decals, usually on some hick's truck, that has Calvin pissing on a Ford logo. Or a chevy logo. Or chrystler. I'm almost positive Calvin has pissed on every established logo in existance. It really pisses me off, Calvin and Hobbes is a comic classic, and the throngs of white trash that plaster their rusted out toyotas with these decals obivously have no experience with the actual comic. I doubt they even recognize the character as Calvin. I'm no expert on trailer park folk art, so maybe I'm missing something, but I can't see what the appeal is. Who started this "fad"? Is there some factory churning out imagines of Calvin pissing on everything under the sun? Can't Bill Watterson ban this practice?

I'm not the biggest fan of C&H, and I don't feel like somebody has desecrated something close to me, but even I have a little tact.

i dunno if anyone has said it yet...but um..how about wedgies..after you've been workin all day and you're hot and sweaty, and your boxers/panties/whatever you got on (excluding thongs) starts to creap up and keep on creapin..and there is nothin you can do b/c you're in the middle of work...

oh my... wedgies are even worse when you're in the middle of a workout at the gym... and you want to pull it out sooooooooo badly.. but everyone is looking at you... so you leave it... and it's so annoying...

People not showing up for work with no call or notification. You plan a whole day, then it gets all screwed up, and you have to jump through hoops to make it work out.

The other boards I frequent, easyboards and ign's vnboards both have horrible search features, guess I'm not used to having one that actually works. :D

People that don't use vibrate for their cellphones. Unless you are asleep and work in a capacity that requires you be available at this time (such as on-call), TURN YOUR CELLPHONE ON VIBRATE, NO ONE ELSE WANTS TO HEAR IT. Seriously. Especially if it's some stupid midi rendering of Mozart's 5th, or something similar.
