I bet that would be a really effective deterrent (preventative) and humanitarian. No one will be dropped off in the middle of the desert by their "fellow countrymen" to die, or starve or dehydrate to death trying to cross illegally into our country. No one will suffocate in a van driven by their "concerned countrymen" nor will anyone be "accidentally" shot by an "enthusiastic" Minuteman. Mines in this case, would SAVE LIVES!!

I think many people object to mines not for their war application, but rather it's clean-up or lack there of. I think that's the real issue. NOT robot machines or budgets or partisan bickering or whatever. It's the clean up (I think).

I third the head-mounted laser border security shark defense. Otherwise, ill-tempered sea-bass will do. Even genetically modified, if it can be approved by the HOuse.
I've been on the recieving end of a severe Sea-Bass attack. Those things are fucking brutal when they pack up...

Aha, yes, the clean-up I have a problem with. How profound. If there was a Ban in place, we would not have to worry the clean up in the future of mines that are deployed now, because member nations would stop producing them.

As far as mining the US-Mexico border, I think that would definitely bring the problem closer to home.

1. Prosthetic (sp?) limb manufacturer stock would increase.
2. You would have to admit that illegal immigrants are terrorists.

Now the Canada / US border on the other hand... yeah, you get my vote for that. 3000 miles of minefields that would have to be maintained, on the US side, since we don't have any, paid for by the US government, since we don't support it.

P.S.: I enjoy the lighter side of this forum. For the hundredth time, this serious shit gives me a headache which is why I stay away from Tilted Politics. Your last post put a smile to my face Jorlegito.
