and Phil - golf is not my game - but I'd be happy to toast a successful game for you.

Yeah, I'm thinking that's the way to go :) I need to stop looking at this thread. Really. It's just making me anxious and more excited.

I'm thinking perhaps I shall bring out some good Oregon craftbrew for you all to try :) Must remember to wrap it up well so it doesn't break in my suitcase :)

Esen 07-11-2005 03:00 AM

Its not looking good for me coming now,

My wife is starting not reaaly feel excited about me going to the get together while she is hom ein NY.

As I said before I cant bring her either.
Also plane ticket prices have gone up so thats not helping my case lol.

Im going to make one last attempt tonight to convince her as well as myself that I should go.

tecoyah 07-11-2005 03:15 AM

Proirities Chauncey....as much as we would all love to have you here...pregnant wives outrank a party any day of the week (speaking from experience).....there will be other opportunities to meet everyone, and you would likely be a wreck with worry.

tecoyah 07-12-2005 10:47 AM

You can get them at the terminal on this side.....dont see why you cant over there

Might check on it though

Charlatan 07-12-2005 12:27 PM

You can buy them at the terminal.... highly unlikely to be a full boat. However, if you are feeling worried you can book in advance.

It looks like I will be on the Friday at 7pm boat as well. I will be on foot as I can't carry my clubs on the scooter. (Phil are we playing the par 3 across the road or are we playing somewhere else? If it's the par 3 I can get away with just a handful of clubs and my putter).

I haven't decided if I'm going to book a hotel or just crash on the floor... hope there's room on the floor, just in case.

tecoyah 07-12-2005 01:46 PM

Plenty of room at the house....and I think you guys are going to the country club....may want to bring a few extra clubs.

uncle phil 07-12-2005 04:10 PM

charlatan, we'll do the lakeshore course...full 18...they've probably got rentals if you need...

Esen 07-13-2005 03:14 AM

The men who board those manly man ships that take them to far away shores to see sights and take women.

Naw, just doesn't sound right either.

Looking forward to it. Probably leave here Friday afternoon and get there sometime Friday, early evening.

If work allows. I have traded the weekend so hopefully there won't be any problems, just have to leave early enough Sunday to get back here to work by midnight..... unless I can work a deal for that also.

I really need this trip and it'll be my first golf outing this year.

Scorps 07-13-2005 09:58 PM

So what time do I gotta be at the ferry dock??

Remember I got a 3 hour drive to T.O.

How about able seamen? Mates? Scallywags?

I'm not going to be able to sleep next Thursday night. I just know it.

kramus 07-13-2005 11:11 PM

We be Pirates then, eh? 'T would explain much then, missy. Arrr. Avast and belay there. A piece of good Spanish silver to you then for the fine look of you, and another to thank you for the smile in your eyes. Arrr.

From the Schedule Page:

Quote:

Schedule & Fares

We recommend that passengers arrive at their departure terminal a minimum of one hour prior to the schdeuled departure. Please note that the check in gates will close 15 minutes prior to the vessel departure in order to ensure a safe and secure on time departure.

So if you're catching the 7pm Friday boat you ... you wanna be there no later than 6pm. If they're like the ferries I've been on, they've got food, etc - or just get there and get comfy for the ride over :)

Hey Pain....google maps say it's only a 4 hour drive from you to us. Down route 81 south to route 90 west. The ferry will probably tie you up for 6 hours or so.

Just a thought......

Charlatan 07-14-2005 01:16 PM

That's what I said... easier to drive to Rochester from Kingston than to take the Ferry from Toronto...

Tecoyah: What do you need us to bring for food? Are we just going to chip in for groceries or should we bring some stuff (besides the booze, etc)? It looks like there are going to be quite a few people over from Friday night to Sunday morning.

Also are there good galleries and/or museums in town? What about shopping etc? I may want to do a bit of wandering on Saturday afternoon after golf, if others are up for it.

tecoyah 07-14-2005 01:55 PM

well...to be honest.....this is a much larger gathering than I had planned for....which is wicked sweet

there is much to do here....museums, shopping, theater.....etc...we will, I am sure....discuss the game plan as things progress

I will have some food and booze here to get us all started....and we can decide where to go from there

in my opinion,,,,the more people who show up....the better this party will be
I say pack light...bring youselves and we can buy what we need down the street (got a Wegmans a mile away, and a good liquor store even closer)

we will play much of this by ear.....much the way TFP works

ShaniFaye 07-14-2005 02:20 PM

I love to wander!!! count me in for that

/must remember to bring my wandering shoes

snowy 07-14-2005 02:49 PM

So who's picking up this owl when she lands?

I am flightless, after all...must get other things to do my flying for me. I get into Rochester about an hour after Shani, at about 6:20.

I will be bringing some Northwestern delicacies. Is it possible that any of the Canadian comers could do me a favor and bring a bag or three of Ruffles All-Dressed? I'll give you lots of hugs and kisses as a bribe. Or maybe just some beer.
