You will have a 2 hour minimum drive to the dock in Toronto, then pay for a two hour ferry ride.

If you drive from Kingston it should take roughly the same amount of time (maybe a little longer but you a) won't have to drive to downtown Toronto or b) pay for the ferry

For me, the ferry docks are a five to eight minute drive from my house so I will likely take the ferry (if I go).

By the way, if anyone is planning on taking the ferry let me know... maybe we can go together.

But liek tech said his house is close to the ferry...I will get lost taking the 1000 islands bridge!

/sigh

I'm so envious of everyone. I hope everyone has a great time!!!

We need something like this near SLC, dammit!

Esen 06-29-2005 07:09 PM

Hmm.

If you can get a bed for me (not as young as I used to be) i'll see what I can do about getting there from NYC.
I Don't drive so I guess I'll have to do trains and such..

a cheap hotel might work. As long as the wife doesnt think I m spending too much lol.

It will be just me coming though. Wife and son will be staying home.

you can put me one notch closer from Maybe to actually attending.

If I do attend I'll bring some spirits to and nyc specialty items upon request such as canolies or bagles or such.

went from 50% to 65% :) attending.

Scorps 06-29-2005 08:57 PM

Esen 06-30-2005 03:36 AM

By the way, You are doing a great job putting this together, thank you for opening your home to everyone, that is very kind of you.

pan6467 06-30-2005 08:07 AM

Tec,

Look forward to meeting you and everyone. Is there anything I can bring?

And as I have stated if anyone needs picked up from Ohio or wants to meet me here and have me drive or needs picked up along my way I will gladly do so. I love company when I drive.

kramus 06-30-2005 11:33 AM

I plan to weekend park in TO and ferry over the evening of Friday the 22, and take the Sunday afternoon ferry back. Floor space and hopefully a blanket will provided, and someone will take me along on a ride to a grocery store/firewater distributor where my contribution to the get together is assembled. Does this sound workable to the Hosts of Rochester?

Charlatan 06-30-2005 12:32 PM

When is the golf game going to happen? This will effect my arrival time. Have to get the priorities straight...

ngdawg 06-30-2005 12:37 PM

If I can come I will be there on the Saturday ferry. According to the schedule it doesn't leave Toronto until 11:30. That would get me into Rochester at around 1 or 1:30pm. I may have to make changes to take the 19:00 ferry on Friday night so I can make an early morning tee time rather than twilight on Saturday....

I agree we need fewer XY and XX...

As it gets closer I will know what's going on, I think it would be good for me to do this..i'm just not sure if i can yet.

Esen 07-01-2005 04:23 PM

uncle phil 07-01-2005 04:26 PM

Tecoyah has promised me the supplies to make homemade Ice Cream will be available (make it in Coffee Cans) ... and I am bringing my ice cream recipe ... will that plus Abbott's be enough? :)

kramus 07-01-2005 04:55 PM

ummm - home made vanilla, right Amonkie?

amonkie 07-01-2005 05:11 PM

Vanilla... and whatever else the heart desires - best part is you can make more than one kind at a time, if Tecoyah is really the coffee junkie he professes to be :)

Esen 07-02-2005 03:28 AM

Well hopefully they will see the thread here.

homemade icecream yum.
Just moved me up from 65 to 67 % sure :).

Rochester is in Monroe county correct?
\
Anyone know how long it takes to get there from nyc (train) ?

Esen 07-02-2005 03:46 AM

How far are you from the airport?

I'm going to have to fly in.

Train and bus is too freaking long and hust as much money.

tecoyah 07-02-2005 04:31 AM

Fifteen minute drive from the airport......and I can do the pickup

Any other NYC people out there.....

Esen 07-02-2005 09:22 AM

Thanks a lot, I havnt bought the ticket yet, but I would most likely arrive at 9:30 pm est on Friday night.
I would catch the plane after I get out of work.

oblar 07-02-2005 10:01 AM

by the way, in case there are others who are on the way from D.C. to Rochester, I am driving and could pick you up.. I plan on leaving D.C. Friday at 5pm (I know..I know..ugh) and leaving Rochester on Monday.

ngdawg 07-02-2005 01:28 PM

After painstaking research, it seems that, should any wish to stay in a hotel,
Comfort Inn West on West Ridge Rd is about the closest to party central at 6 miles. Rooms run about $80 or so. (staying in Rochester ain't cheap!)
Amend: Residence Inn at starting rate of $59 a night is also 6 miles on Paddy Creek Circle as is Marriott Courtyard.

This does not mean I am going.....

tecoyah 07-02-2005 06:45 PM

actually....about three/four miles to holiday inn express on east ridge rd

Phil stayed there last time....not a bad place at all

tecoyah 07-03-2005 03:50 AM

As requested......here are a couple Golf courses....all within 2 miles of my house

This ones across the street
http://www.lattalea.com/

This one is a mile away
http://www.lakeshore-cc.com/

This one is across the street from the one above....also a mile away
