I thought zug.com had the best prank of the year. The whole thing about the free vasectomies for fat men was a prank. That had national attention.

Yes, this is a FAKE Medical Journal website for a FAKE medical association, complete with a fake voicemail system. Most of the stories and articles you read here are true... Just not that one that probably brought you here. Sorry about that. I know how badly you wanted it to be true (because hey, it wouldn't have made the news under your name if you DIDN'T). Alas, it's not. We made it up.

Why, you ask? Well, we're still tired.

Once again, we've proved that so-called "journalists" at so-called "reputable news agencies" are so-called "Fucking lazy". Furthermore, bloggers... Shame on you! It's not like we didn't drop about two billion clues that this particular article might not be full to the brim with medical fact, you know. The integrity part of Journalistic Integrity has been left completely by the wayside, and reporters / writers / disc jockeys / what-have-you are simply scraping sites like Fark.com and BoingBoing.net for news and updates.

I'm a dork also. I blame only having one cup of coffee to that point. I click, I get the message.

*blink*blink* okay...

Now, considering that I made 1/2" wide labels that said "April Fools!" and stuck them on the undersides of my co-workers mice last night before I left (at midnight), I'm going to assume this is a joke. Okay, view source...

I read some code. I see it's all still there. so...why don't I see it? Hm, I keep looking. I see all the "< br >" in the "message" table, and.....nothing clicks.

Now I nuke the cookies and go to see the main page. Okay, it's there. Hm. Do some clicking, find my way around. The site's there. *sips coffee* "now what the hell..."

Go back to the "message" page...read source....

OH! br. Duh.
*smack head*
*scroll down*

Sigh.

Happy April 1st all! Thanks Hal!

i think i may have figured it out sooner if my husband wasn't home today keeping me offline. but yeah, good ol' "check source code" to the rescue.

i haven't had a good apr fools prank for many many yrs.

I knew it was an April Fool's joke right away, but I had to have a friend tell me about the whole "scrolling down" thing.

I thought "Hm, okay.. I'm sure others will be fooled, but you mean I actually have to WORK today?! C'mon.. bring it back up."

I have bookmarks that take me directly to "View new posts" and "Advanced search", so I wouldn't have seen this prank at all if you guys hadn't mentioned it.

Where's Halx to gloat about his success? I also wonder if he pulled any other tricks, he had some great ones last year.

Guess I'm just the grumpy guy here, but being in a country where it's been april fools all day and checking out my fav websites after coming home from going out to a bar, I'm kindof annoyed to find most of them littered with April Fools jokes. I mean... most of them aren't even usable anymore...
Then again... this hasn't been a good day...

Blah... think I should just get some sleep now...
