Need help with APT in NYC Metro Area - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hey folks,

I've been coming to TFP for awhile, but it feels wierd actually asking for help, but I'm getting desperate.

A little about me- I'm a film student at NYU. Just transfered into it from a local commnity college last semester, after getting an A.S. in mathematics.

I need some help finding a location for the film I'm shooting this semester. Its 16mm color negative, 6-8 minutes in length. My biggest project to date, I'm putting in about $1000.00 of my own into it. and that's begrudgingly cause I dont really have it.

Bascially I need an apartment that has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room, to shoot the film during my shoot dates of April 8-10.

The film is a ghost story about a dead son who comes back to haunt his single mother. After the son dies, the mom gets a divorce, so she moves into a place of her own. The film starts 9 months after the death, so the apartment will be dressed to look like she's still unpacking.

What does letting a student shoot a film in your apartment involve? (this is the part where I try to downplay everything) It involves letting a crew of 8-10 people plus 2-3 actors into your place and dress the set to look appropriate for the story. We're all neat people that clean up after ourselves and put things back, but its something to know. We'll also be leaving the equipment there overnight friday and saturday. I should also state that NYU Film has a 1 million dollar insurance policy on student shoots, so if something awry happens it is covered by insurance. (of course there's like a $1500 deductible, >_<)

If you have an apartment or location that suits this and are willing to help out, thanks so much. If you know anyone that could help and ask them on my account, thanks a whole lot for just trying.
