do you go to a private uni? I attend a private college thats got just a few thousand students at my campus and our professors are all kinds of nosey and we have a student success center and such that offers free tutoring so its possible. Larger universities dont have the resources or time but if your administration/faculty to student ratio is pretty low then they have time to be nosey... Ive never really done bad so I cant say Ive had the same thing happen but I know my school keeps on top of grades and your records really well.

Ya, we have a lady like that at my college too. Believe it or not, she's actually there to help you. If you have any problems in school courses, you should go see this lady. She can work stuff out that will let you actually stay in school.

Yeah, I agree with Church. Some colleges/universities are better about things like that than others. Obviously you feel like it's very intrusive, but (as Church said) they really just want to help you out. I know I've been completely overwhelmed in a few classes I've taken, and it helped to have someone to talk to that knows how things work, so I knew I wasn't screwing myself over.
Those types of departments can usually help you out, hook you up to tutors, things like that. So, if you need any kind of help, I'd definitely talk to her or someone else there, it can't hurt. |

Back when I was at a community college I ended up on academic probation. It made me feel pretty crappy so I turned it around. Since then I average about a 3.6 out of 4.

Never heard of someone calling you after blowing one midterm. Usually if you bomb a semester at my college they like to ring you up. Was it the professor or just some random lady from the college? I don't see why they'd call you if you can still get a passing grade in the course for the semester.
