1. I like all chicks almost equally myself, just women in general floats my boat. The attraction to asian women by most guys I would assume (note that I am in no way qualified to give a psychiatric evaluation of the masses, let alone an individual) it's because they're generally smaller, slimmer, and have that neato exotic look about them, these all being traits one looks for in a womans physical appearance.

2. I think this question is more directed towards one of the chinese/islander asian loving guys, which I am a part of, but as I said earlier I like all of them equally, so I may not be the person to answer.

Asian women look younger than women of other blood lines. It's this coupled with the human instinct to be attracted to youth (which is the classic source of physical beauty) that in general makes asian women so attractive. I'm capable of going deeper into this point, but I dont think you want to be reading my shit for hours.

I really had no extra attraction to asian girls until I dated one. In fact, I would say that growing up I was culturally biased against asian women, finding them less desireable just because I was "trained" socially to like girls who looked like me (girls who were white).

But after finding out an asian girl liked me I decided to take a chance and we went out for awhile. Now I would have to say that I am skewed toward asian women and would def. like to date another one.

I guess this is also related to the fact she was the last girl that I had strong feelings for, and you usually dont forget or lose those feelings until you meet another person.

Anyways, my friends always are giving me trouble and proding me when ever an asian girl walks by, etc, but I think they are just too afraid and culturally close minded to date outside their own ethnic group.

Physically I guess it would be the dark hair and nice skin, and (stereotyping mode on) asian girls seem more laid back, smarter, and less concerned with things that don't matter than other girls (sterotyping off).

My fiancee's Taiwanese. I'm together with her because I love her. As for asians in general, most of them do nothing for me. I usually don't like the "come and help me" doll style most asian girls have.
I normally don't have any preference. I've never dated a black girl, or a North American girl, but it never had anything to do with preferences.

How far I would go to be with one is an irrelevant question. That depends on somebody's personality, not what they look like. If a girl wanted me to do stupid or dangerous crap just to prove my love for her, I'd dump her. My fiancee has my best in mind, as I have hers. That's why I moved to Taiwan. I want to be with her, so all other girls don't matter, unless they want to be friends and nothing else.

I would tend to agee with this stats. Asian eyes for me have a distinctly alluring quality and skin tone and condition is particularly excellent among the majority of asians that I know.
(Again wildy crazily generalising there)

There is also a slightly aloof and knowing quality to the almost demure and deferential look that Asian women have (by and large) , so that would tie in with the first statistic.

Anyone here who has dated asian women will know for a fact that the 'demure''subservient''willing to please' sterotypes are just that....streotypes. Asian women (in my experience) present just as great a challenge and just as wonderful rewards as your average Finn or Argentinan or Russian or .....

When you have a majority of one race it can sometimes become boring or you can be burned out. I like exotic looking women and that often comes in Asian or African American and some latino women. Again all minorities when it comes to an overpopulated amount of European women.

Change is always good. Sometimes a mixture of races produces a attractive person that others find just as desirable.

Hmm, my white friends don't show any preference of asians, and there are alot of them in Vancouver. Probably because many asians don't really assimilate well, and prefer to just hang out with people of their race.

I'm asian, and would love to try dating a non-asian. Seems like all the asian chicks that are really hot dont have very much going for them. From experience, they are needy, bitchy, snobby and generally not that much fun to be around.

I am a girl and intrested in various sorts of female beauty. I like classic western brunettes, goth chicks with red or black hair and can find many ethnic features sexy. Middle-asians or africans or african americans or indians or indian indians or or or.. What caughts my eye is a person, whose personality and looks seem to be in balance, who is intelligent and social, curious about the world and open for ideas, not religiously or politically untolerant for lifestyles or beliefs other people have. That goes in real life. What comes to watching porn, it would be really boring to watch just western bodies which are like my own and like most people I know, and I guess I am also a bit intrested in seeing what differences bodies have when clothes come off.

There's not much porn around which really would flaunt and show asian men? They are less hairy which looks like a bonus, but I am 170 cm tall and I would generally be intrested in men that are taller than I am and then comes the other size-matter. :) But basically, they are dark and exotic like the women so why not if there is a chance to explore..

It's not anything in their personality. For me it's aesthetical thing. Long black strong hair, darker skin and oh yeah, the eyes. What I don't like: boyish bodies and that hellish giggling, it is a total turn off. Argh!

1. In general, I think Halx's hypothesis is correct. Asian women look healthy, nubile and "pure". There's also a lot of mysticysm associated with Asian females that add allure, especially middle eastern and subcontinental women. (7 veils, etc, etc etc.) THis is also true for far-eastern women to a degree, given the closedness of their societies. It could also have to do with the fact that asian women are portrayed as being sexually subservient(sp?) to men, leading do domination fantasies, etc etc.

2. Personally, I prefer Middle Eastern women (the ones with less body hair. :D) Honestly, though. Ever watched Al Jazeera? Hot chicks. And Indians too. I find Japanese women probably most attractive among far-eastern women. My racial group has got strong malay heritage, and the mix of malay/caucasian/aboriginal has led to quite exquisite women (they look similar to Brazilian women), but in general, I find malays not that attractive. (big stereotype, I know)

Being of Filipino descent and the first of my family line to be born in the USA, I'm an american first and foremost. Pisses off my cousins and "brethren" I have no Filipino pride, nor nationalistic pride in my heritage. I do not subscribe to the taglish that is spoken, but can speak tagalog when needed.

Like you I am not attracted to Asians. In fact I don't care for the black straight hair, almond eyes, and olive/yellowish/brownish skin tone. I grew up going to family parties, and would always see Asians and got sick of the cliques and games they would play. I wasn't interested then and not interested now.

That is not to say that I don't have Asian friends, but I do. I have friends that melt and blend into the group. I don't have and Puerto Rican, African American, German, Israeli, or Italian friends that have nothing to offer but their heritage pride that they wear on their sleeves and chastise or look down upon others who aren't.

I went through a phase where I was interested primarily in Asians. And so were many of my friends and acquaintances, however I realized that we had also gone through a bunch of other phases - blonde, latina, etc.

I also noticed the asian fetish beginning to lose steam in the last couple years.

About your own attraction to white men and dislike of asian men, I would guess that part of that is due to the desexualization of asian men in U.S. society, particularly entertainment media. I'm not asian, but I notice it. It would only be natural for you to be more attracted to white men since they're portrayed as more manly.

I'm white (hence the username) and I've had an infatuation with Asian women for a long time. I'm not entirely sure of all the reasons for my attraction, but the Asian facial structure is somehow alluring. Another likely reason is that I've had a long-lived fascination with Asian culture and a love of all things Japanese that was greatly increased by the recent boom in Anime and Manga. Also, Asian women, especially Japanese girls, seem to have a certain sense of innocence and purity about them, even when they're performing extremely explicit acts. This may be related to the fact that (from my observations) Asian women tend to appear much younger than they actually are due to their build and facial features, although there comes a point later in life when age seems to catch up with them quickly. I suppose my desire for Asian women is really just the pursuit of the psychological comfort of being with someone who is perpetually sweet and loving, and is largely based on stereotypes.

I consider most asian girls to be cute rather than "hot". For comparison purposes Pamela Anderson/Lee is usually considered to be hot while a girl like Natalie Portman is considered cute.

I like Asians, but perhaps for a different reason than most. I have a particular fondness for the chinese and japanese ones because they are in my bloodline. I feel cheated somewhat out on all that good "sterotypical asian upbringing" because my parents wanted me to grow up "normal" and never really taught me a whole lot about my heritage.

We're a big ol mix of a lot of ethnicities in my family, and rather than focus on one they just didnt talk about it. My grandma was cherokee indian.. did i get any info on that? nope.. Couldn't even get a tribe number to go to schol for cheap. A good portion of my family is dark skinned, and because there is a large percentage of african american in my bloodline we associate with that the most. Also my parents grew up around blacks, and in places where if you looked black you got treated that way.

Back in the 50's my dad had a really hard time growing up and has passed a lot of those fucked up racial biases off to me (i'm working through it though). You try being the only "black kid" with almond eyes, olive skin and blonde hair.. It just didn't work out that well. He lived in the south too.. so he couldnt go in black only places without troluble, but he sure as hell couldnt pass off for white. This created a desire to not learn about his heriutage..despite the fact that he should have been proud to be a mixture of so many good cultures.
*shrug* Fast forward 20 years when im born. Imagine going to a family reunion where everyone looked different. There were different languages and dialects being spoken. I was fascinated by it all, but since my parents didnt want me to grow up confused they never talked about it. In my family we were all related and loved each other..no need to talk about race and culture.. but when i started publ;ic school I got a taste of how the world is sometimes.

I totally was not prepared for all that. the kids at school had me thoroughly convinced that I was adopted because I couldnt possibly be my parents child. They ethnicly looked nothing like me. I was totally devestated.

Ever since then I vowed to learn more about my various heritages and cultures. It made me ashamed and upset to be labled "black" because I knew i was more than that.. I tried to tell anyone who would listen. I spoiled many a black history presentation when i was in elementary school :) I read book upon book about japan and chine where my dad lived for years before i was born. I talked to my grandmother about the reservation and even talked to my great grandparents about how it was to be herded into cities and adopting the anglo american and christian lifestyles to survive.

I guess i'm somewhat at peace with it now, but I still feel shafted about the asian thing. So it's my goal in life to learn as much as i can about various asian cultures (hell im thinking about picking up a second B.S. in asian studeis) and maybe finally i'll be at peace with myself.

Well, when I say slutty the girl doesn't actually have to sleep with a lot of guys, just a flirtacious person, who you might think, or gives the impression of being available but isn't necessarily. Slutty isn't necesarrily a negative connotation, I used it in a sense of more sexually adventurous. Of course just because a girl appears to be "slutty", or more sexually adventurous doesn't necessarily mean she is. I mean, while asian girls aren't considered by me to be "slutty" I do think that they're more willing to try new things to please their partner. The examples I illustrated in my original post where meant to portray external differences between asian girls and the rest. Actual personality is a different story.

I don't know what it is about asian girls that gets me. My friends at school say I think any girl that is asian is hot, lol, I guess I have a fetish. My current gf is white... but I dunno, there is something exotic and alluring about asians that really turns me on. mrap1, with his comparision of hot/cute, is very similar to how I feel. A lot of times I find myself turned off by the blond, fake looking "hot" girls but extremely turned on by the cuter girl next door types. Asians seem to fit this model more often than not.

I grew up mostly in New Jersey (like forsetti), and, as an asian guy, it was natural for me to like the girls around me. The large majority of people of people there are whites are black. I grew up doing traditionally american things, and liking american girls....my parents were typically strict and when i was younger, i tended to rebel against anything asian. really hated how it seemed like school was EVERYTHING.

when my parents moved out to california, i began to learn all the wonderful things about asian culture that weren't so obvious in NJ. Now in college, asian culture is the craze at my school--UC Berkeley. Guys love the asian girls, anime, asian food. It's very much an asian dominated school, especially in regards to academics. in lots of ways, im glad my parents went out of their to raise me asian (tho i certainly hated it at the time!)

For engineering, almost all the guys here like asian girls, whether it's white guys or asian guys or even the few black guys. Guys in engineering tend to find that asian culture--and of course, asian girls-- fits better for them and their lifestyle

This quote struck me, in particular because so many asians on college campuses have noticed this phenomena.

A lot of asians have been going to great lengths to change their "kung fu" image or as geeky engineers. Recently a film was made exclusively by asian actors ("Better Luck Tomorrow") to counter the asian male stereotypes that most people hold. Ehh, the movie was okay, but I appreciated it cuz for once asian guys were human. haha

Generally I feel that Asians have a mystical quality about them. They have (for the most part) beautiful hands, legs, and eyes. I have nevr had the pleasure of dating an Asian. Latley I'm not looking for any type in particular. I am tired of the dating game - I have had some doozies in the past couple of years. Now I just have a bed buddy and she's amazing. I'll shut up now.

I watch asian films all the time... actually better put, I watch lots of foreign films. Yes, there is an over abundance of kungfu imports, but watching lots of the original John Woo/Chow Yun Fat movies can show that the Asian man is not all about kungfu and computer geeks. Heck, evn Kaiju (i.e. Godzilla) movies had their geeky characters.

I was looking forward to "Better Luck Tomorrow" since it's an MTV product, but I wasn't able to get a screener pass. So I'll wait utnil someone here has a screener to bring home.

i believe that people are always attracted to opposites (opposites attract - we have all heard that before right) well then lets take some random white guy on the street sees some random asian woman... well just the fact that she is so different not only from him but form the type of women hes used to means he will be enticed to her to certain extent, so essentially i think it stems from something really simple like that... i think some of the posts seem to give people too much credit, most people are pretty simple about who they are attracted to

I'm Chinese and I've been raised mostly in areas with many Asians, so I have a tendency to go for what I'm used to.

As for other reasons why someone might like Asian women, I've always heard the stereotype that they're submissive and easy. And with the way you see typical "hot" Asian women running around in revealing clothing, suffocating under tons of make-up and highlighted hair, I can see why some might think that. If they're not hot, then they're cute and innocent. Guys are usually seen as masculine and whatnot, so I guess it'd be ideal to be with a "helpless" Asian chick. Plus, Asian women are stereotypically wealthy, which I suppose would be considered appealling.

As for why Asian men are desexualized in the Western media... attractive Asian males are usually seen as pretty. They have a femenine quality to them that Asian cultures are drawn to. In the West, the media portrays an attractive man as being more "manly." Because of this, you'll see more Asian women with other ethnicities... but Asian men will tend to stay in their own race.

I'm quite fond of the Japanese people for their interesting history and culture, needless to say that I find the women attractive too but that isn't the main reason. I find Japan's historical and religious background to be beautifully set in spirituality, this intrigues me very much.

I have no such love for the Chinese, though I'll admit that their spirituality was nice it isn't really there anymore. In my lifetime I've met many Chinese people, only one of which I actually like, all the others were hypocritical, mean, cold and unpleasant. I don't believe all Chinese people are like this but in my experience I've chosen to stay well away from them. And no, I am not a racist.

Men like to be 'the macho' caring for the vulnerable girl.

There is much that is attractive about Asian womenin terms of looks etc but to actually understand them, their culture and remain committed is the more difficult thing. Languages have never been my forte so looking is as far as my attraction goes

I'm not into Asians, i dunno why, they're not my type, all the women seem to young and innocent, which i guess could be good, but it means they're not as sexy as say a hot blond European/American. I also think they all look very similar, i'm sure they'll all great people though! i'm just not attracted to them.

Mav - (IMO) physically, most asian women are petite and seem to retain their youthful looks far longer than other women. especially in america, this is a highly desirable trait. asian women are usually perceived as being submissive and very attentive to a man's needs.

Mav - i honestley can't tell one asian type from another and neither can my asian friends. but the weird thing is; while none of us can tell the difference my asians friends get really pissed if someone acknowledges their specific ethnicity incorrectly. in my close knit group of friends there is a japanese, chinese, vietmanese. they quite often rank on eachother about their specific ethnicity.

Mav - i am a heterosexual male so i'm not physically attracted. if i could switch bodies with an asian male (i'm considered caucasian) would i? no, because most asian males are shorter and skinner both physical traits that are usually associated with weakness (again IMO)... BTW, I worship Bruce Lee :)

Mav - not sure i understand the question... i've never done anything crazy to "hook up" with an asian girl, never needed too. As i mentioned before, most of the asian girls i know are somewhat submissive, show a little agressiveness and they get wettt :D.

i lived with a guy who dated asian women exclusively. his claim was that they tended to be quite a bit more willing to "please" him in any way he asked. he didn't seem to be a total dick (racist) about it, just knew what he liked.......

A couple reasons in my opinion that a lot of asian woman like white guys: white guys are taller than asian guys, if you're tall, go to Taiwan or something and the chicks will fall all over you. I've also heard that westerners tend to be more chivalrous, like opening doors for women and those little things.

I think Damhna hit the nail on the head...An Asian girl's face is the most beautiful thing in the world. The eyes are both innocent yet devious. I go to a local college which has a rather high Asain population, and everytime I see an Asian girl that happens to look my way, its like I become frozen. There is an allure unique to Asian women that no other minority possesses. That and they do retain youthful looks rather well. I also think that when an Asian girls gets excited, its the cutest thing in the world, but it might just be me...

I didnt have alot of sexual partners before I got married but I was quite diverse in my choosing... I was with 4 white girls, a korean girl, a black girl , a girl from Tiawan and got married to a Peurto Rican.

1. I like GOOD LOOKING asian women. I also like good looking Blonde women, etc. I have always had a special lust for some asian women though. Unique: everyone is unique. It takes all kinds.

2. Mostly Japanese and a few Chinese are my thing. I don't like most philipines or chinese or koreans - not as pretty.

3. I don't find Asian men attractive. They are also mostly absent from all media in the U.S. It probably doesn't help that the Japanese (men) bombed the shit out of us. You'll probably find the same thing with Arab men for about the next 100+ years.

4. Nothing more than any other girl. I went out with an asian woman for about a year. Same scenario as with any other gf. We were attracted to each other after being friends for a couple years, ... yada yada yada. I'm not OBSESSED with asians.

6. Like with any other "type" of woman, it is really the whole package. Same as any other type for me:

eyes, smarts, face, smile, happy, smarts, body, etc.

straight dark hair, dark eyes, fairly short,and alot of them can look extreamly cute when they smile.

It might just be me but with both asian and italian girls they always look very pretty or very unattractive very rare to see anyone in the middle.

I'm a product of these relationships, my dad is Caucasian and my mom is Chinese. That being said I like both but especially asians because I think they look younger and cleaner. Although to be honest I think most caucasians have a different taste in Asian girls, they usually choose ones that aren't as attractive in Asian society ie the ones with small traditional slanted eyes, round faces etc...

It might just be a social construct of sorts, but it seems to me that Asian women age better and stay prettier longer.

As a European, I have to note that Asians quite obviously spend time in grroming themselves, dressing in nice clothes and generally looking good - reagrdless of their physical qualities (HOT/ugly). most of them take a lot of care of their looks (I guess this goes for the young ones especially - no, I am not tallking the noodles lady in chinatown!).

So, compare that to most americans. How many skirts do you see ? Makeup ? if you have lived overseas, you know that a woman that wants to be hot can do a lot to that effect, not necessarily looking like a slut -- in fact some asian girls can even wear what would pass for hookerwear on caucasian girls but due to their slimmer bodies not look like one, but that is beside the point.

American girls have very nice bodies on the average, but most of them just don't pay the same attention to looks, regardless of their physical endowment, which is usually better than an Asian's.

That said, while I am often stunned at how matherialistic American women (and men) can be, I will have to agree with the impression that an Asian girl will definitely go after the money even more.... sorry, it just seems that way by my experimental sample.

Not being a male, I'm not absolutely sure what the reason is.
We have a huge population of asian immigrants and students here in New Zealand. If I had to hazard a guess I would have to say that asian women generally tend to be slimmer than kiwi women and are quite often more fashionably dressed. Kiwi students tend to just throw on whatever and we're curvier. Some guys like that, and some like slim women.
I've also noticed that a lot of the asian women here tend to be quite shy and quiet compared to kiwis. Perhaps that has something to do with it? Not that kiwis are loud or anything (not at all compared to Americans!) but we tend to be more open, perhaps overly so.
Apart from that, possibly just difference. Something different from what we generally see every day can be mightily attractive. I know I melt inside whenever I hear an American accent, and I've been told a lot of nationalities find the Kiwi accent 'cute.' Couple that with differences in appearance and that could be a factor.

1. In general, I love all different types, races, and colors of women. I do have a fondness for the Asian persuasion and have dated a few AF's in the past. I suppose the attraction goes to the whole exotic predisposition.

I talked to my friends the next day about it after telling them a cleaning service was on the way over to clean the couch.

Hi. I'm a caucasian male, from the south. I'm a big redneck, I hope this will give you a little perspective without offending anyone. I'm 20 years old, so I don't have tons of experience with any race of women, so keep that in mind.

I like Asians ( mind you Asians, not Asian-Americans) as they aren't as catty and bitchy as American girls in general. They actually have an appreciation for your gestures and don't have the list of games that American girls do. They appreciate your manliness and company more than the serial-dating misandric modern american women.

Maybe I've been exposed to the "wrong" american girls, but I think my generalization works out okay and is generally agreed upon.

Er, what? I love America, and I will never move out. I still find caucasian girls attractive and will date them. In fact, I find American caucasian girls WAY more attractive than Asians, but the baggage that comes along with a majority of American girls is appalling. The secret is out : American girls are in general, bitchy, and girls from other cultures are more appreciative of men, which I love. Notice I didn't say "submissive", as the asian girls I've dealt with are quite vocal about likes and dislikes to my face.

I've gone out with guys from many different races, including Chinese, Korean and East Indian (forget where his family was from now, it was a long time ago). It's the person, not the race that's important to me.

Gotta agree with this point. I used to hang out with an almost exclusively Korean crowd. Some of the girls would wear the most scandalous outfits and they would look 'cute' on them, not hot or skanky because their figures were much less curvy than mine. I'd be wearing something more conservative and still get crap from my guy friends because "I looked too sexy or whatever in them" (this was a very conservative group of people in some ways).

Pissed me off... Like am I supposed to wear a snowsuit because I have curves. :P

I think Japanese women are really hot because they look so different - exotic I guess. The eyes, the skin, the dark hair. Not that I don't like a blond! Oh, and the eyes....
