I couldn't think of anything to give up.

Breathing seemed like a good idea. I passed out and realized It wasn't.

I gave up fast food and ass slapping. Yes, ass slapping. I'm not allowed to spank people for Lent. Sigh.

Holy shit, it's so hard. The first day I was crying I wanted a cigarette so badly. But it just keeps getting easier and easier. I go out with my friends when they go out and smoke and I'm totally ok.

Hrm,

Ass slapping would be a toughie to give up.

Is that proper spanking or just that kind of slap on the ass that they give each other in foot ball games?

I have plenty of things I should give up (like my Internet addiction), but I'm not Catholic, so....

The custom of observing Lent is being taken up by quite a few denominations.

I myself am Episcopalean and we observe lent, complete with Ashes on Ash Wednesday, all the way through Holy Week observances.

Thanks for sharing that tidbit, Lebell! I honestly had no idea.

However, I'm not Christian at all. I have enjoyed this thread though, seeing what people want to give up. I don't think that denying yourself something for awhile is bad, makes you realize what you have.

Insane

I made a bet with one of my friends celebrating hit that I could out last him. The rule is no dessert of any kind. My only real purpose of this is to beat him and rub it in his face because I don't even celebrate Lent (really, I swear I'm a nice guy).
