dropped 1,500 last semester and another 1,200 this semester, thats one of the worst things about being a science major, and i have to keep those books forever.

I did my whole college recently and only bought one small pocket refernce from the book store (mainly because I wanted the book for future ref)

The rest I borrowed one or two from friends who had taken the class already, used one from the library (well the few they had), or bought used editions on e-bay. I found that an old edition was not an issue since all they had changed from one year to the next was page numbers.

It was great getting my books for $2.67 etc. on ebay.

Then at the end of the year you go to the school book store and return the books during book-buyback week.
Made some bang on money doing this, about 400-1000 a year. I would just go every now and then to the lost and found, root through the books and save them. Sometimes you would find books that you need for next semster or that friends needed and you could sell. hey i was poor and it was a great way to make an extra buck. not many books were ever claimed it seemed. Since my books were always so expensive I can't believe anyone would ever just leave them behind. I would always check to make sure i had my book on me everytime i left class or studying...etc.
I won't forget to do this in the fall ! I've already did this at school [h.s.] for some of my school supplies [pens/pencils/highlighters/ and binders that ARE EMPTY !] as well as good literary novels.
Also, I occasionally find the really pilot gel pens that are a couple dollars each

Bookwise, I've gotten 1984, bible, fahrenheit 451, and animal farm.
