Mountain Dew vs. Sun Drop
Of course we all know about the great Pepsi vs. Coke battle, but i believe the Mountain Dew vs. Sun Drop is probably as big of a battle.
Personally I'm a Mountain Dew kinda guy - I just like the sweet taste better than Sun Drops sour sensation. How about you guys? |
give me the dew......i've never had sun drop.
|
The only one on that list I'm even remotely familiar with is Mountain Dew....and Kode Red owns many a soft drinks ass. Used to drink one a those every day walkin home from work...the good ol days.
Asta!! |
They don't have Sun Drop out here in Utah, but I had it when I lived in NC. I don't like any of them. I'm a Pepsi kinda gal.
|
heh, they don't have ANY of them in germany, i just realised.
|
ive never even heard of sun drop. and from when i was a kid, i was in love with mellow yellow...don't think i thought it tasted better than mountain dew, just had a cooler can and name.
and asta....ewww, code red sucks. and that new midnight black mountain dew is even worse. the only good one they made was that orange 'live wire', but in general i think they should just stick to mountain dew. anyone ever notice how sierra mist is the biggest rip off, name wise? Sierra = mountain, Mist = dew. |
Moutain dew, sucessfully banned in the UK for almost a decade.
Trust, that stuff is tasty. Sun Drop just doesn't compare. |
Never even heard of Sun Drop. As for Mello Yellow and Mountain Dew, I like both.
However, I try to stay away from drinking those drinks now since I've learned more about BVO, or brominated vegetable oil. I've found only a couple citric pops that don't have BVO. |
Sun Drop rocks all of those other drinks. As far as I know, you can only find it in the South.
|
Never even heard of Sun Drop, and I live in Florida.
I'll have to go with Mountain Dew. |
Definitely MUNKEN-DU!!!!
|
Never heard of Sun Drop. But I'll go with Mt. Dew any day. It's what I'm drinking right now!! Booya!
|
Actually as far as citric drinks, my favorite by far is fresca. Does that have BVO secret method?
|
Do the Diet Dew!! Can't have sugar :(
|
Sun drop is a south kinda thing. When I was younger I loved sundrop, but now I hate all the light sodas.
|
Never even heard of Sun Drop. I like Mt. Dew, but I can't drink it too often (migraines). I LOVE live wire, though. That is the best orange soda, IMO.
|
Sun Drop is based in the Carolinas i believe. So that's why alot of you probably havent heard of it.
|
Mt dew
never heard of the others |
Id have to go with the Dew cuz ive never heard of Sun Drop, and ive tried Mellow Yellow maybe once and didnt like it.
|
I've heard of Sundrop and tried it. It seems really fizzy. Same with Mello Yellow. Maybe it's just me but Mountain Dew doesn't seem quite as fizzy. I don't like lots of fiz. I actually like my soda best after it's been open in the fridge all night or at least for a couple hours. Not totally flat but not so much fizz that it's popping fiz in my face. Erg.

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion,
It is by the Dew of the Mountain that the thoughts acquire speed, The hands acquire a shaking, The shaking becomes a warning, It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. My mantra I made up many years ago, after reading too many of Herbert's books. ;) |

Used to work for the company and never made the name connection though. Now that I see it in print.... DUH! |
Mountain Dew, I have never heard of Sun Drop, and Mello Yellow just doesn't do it for me.
|
Mountain Dew for me too. As with others, I've never heard of Sun Drop. I have only heard of Mellow Yellow because it is hard to come by here in California.

Never noticed Sierra Mist was a rip off name wise I just noticed it was another drink that tasted like Sprite and 7 Up. I just think it's funny when I go to a resturant and I say "I'll have a sprite" and they respond with "Is sierra mist okay?" Like I'm going to say "ABSOLUTELY NOT! You get me a fuckin Sprite pronto!" Honestly if they never told me..I wouldn't tell the difference between the 3. Not like I'd be sipping it and all of a sudden "Hey I distinctly asked for a 7up up but..lemme taste again..yes this is clearly Sierra Mist! I feel so cheated!" Just gimme my drink  Asta!! |

Mountain dew here. I've never heard of sun drop, and only vagely remember trying out mello yellow as a kid long ago. Anything with a lot of sugar is good tho :)
|
Mountain Dew is all that is available out here. Mello Yello hasn't been sold around here for probably 10 years, and Sun Drop has never been sold here.
|
I like both Mountain Dew and Mello Yellow, but haven't tried or even heard of Sundrop until now. But hey, I'm open to trying it.
|
Dew Baby.. its my life span.
|
Never heard of Sun Drop, so I'll have to go with the Dew.
|
None of the above. Caffeinated cola product for me. I'm not picky as to what kind of cola, provided it's cola and caffeinated.
|
Mountain Dew
Code Red Dr. Pepper Best drinks ever :) |
Just in case some of you who have never heard of Sun Drop or have ever tried it want to you can Order Some Here

what the crap is sundrop. I need to find it. I love trying new soda flavors....because I'm a big dork :)
Anyway, I have had too much Mountain Dew lately, so I voted Mello Yellow |
Mountain Dew = Nectar of the Gods
Haven't had Sun Drop in a long time. I'll drink mellow yellow if there isn't any dew around, but I prefer dew. |
I also must preach the divine goodness that is Mt. Dew. It has been said, and I truly believe, that Mt. Dew was handed down by the Lord to reward his faithful children, that they be truly pleased. And so it was done. Let the nectar of the gods flow my brothers and sisters.
Mage, it's good to see another person that belives it is the nectar of the Gods. My friends look at me like I'm nuts when I say that. |
