Bam. Done :D

FallenAvatar 06-12-2005 01:16 AM

Plan to donate what I can spare tomorrow after I check the bank account.

ShaniFaye 06-12-2005 02:51 AM

Payday is wednesday....it wont be a lot, I have my own bandwidth bills and a wedding but once I figure out how to use Dave's paypal account (mine is attached to ex hubby's crackhead bank account and paypal wont let me set up a new one cause Im on Dave's account and for some strange reason you can have more than one paypal on the same account) I will def send something

Mondak 06-12-2005 06:39 AM

Not sure if I donated because I like this place or to see if I could swing a kiss from Sweetpea for it. Either way - the money went through on Friday and was confirmed.

Halx and everyone else, I am very sorry that you have to have threads like this with folks who are such a pain in the ass. You don't deserve that just to keep the doors open.

SinisterMotives 06-12-2005 07:15 AM

BuDDaH,

This isn't surprising. Her trolling has caused wonderwench to be banned, shunned, or run off of every board she's posted on this year. You would have had to do it sooner or later, I think.

Ishmal 06-12-2005 08:29 PM

hmmm...

i beta talk to Hal...

hulk 06-13-2005 12:37 AM

Me too! Yes I'm a new member but I can already see that this is a community I want to be a part of for a very long time!

The only thing better than that post would have been a recording of you saying it into a camera, followed by a frenzy of clicking the ban button, kind of like the apartment scene from Pulp Fiction.

Thanx Becca.....very much

You get a Kiss from me...

Me, too. I'm new, and would hate to lose what I just found - intelligence, compassion and such variety! This is a fantastic place, well worth supporting.

Beccarain 06-14-2005 05:33 AM

Woo hooo, my first tfp kiss . . . back at ya tacoyah
Cartuni, very well put!

Y'know, it appears that tfp needs a steady stream of donations. If enough of us commit to donate what we can each month, I'll bet we could spare Halx from having to crack the whip again.

So how 'bout it? Everyone budget something for tfp (I heard the groan, c'mon, it's not as hard as it sounds); set a monthly reminder using a wall calendar, school planner, Outlook, Daytimer, a sticky note on the mirror with coffee dribbles on it . . . whatever works for you. Those of us without a steady income, give what we can when we can . . . those with a regular paycheck, plan to set aside $10 or whatever we can comfortably afford.

Saving a little money here and there can really add up. Everyone's financial situation is different; look for ways to redirect some of your spending. Perhaps you can skip going out to dinner one night, or wait until the movie that just came out at the theater is on cable. If you are a regular at the local Starbucks, just pass it by a few days each month. Maybe stay home on Friday night and read a book instead of blowing $20 on beers at the bar. Pass on that lap dance. See where I'm going with this?

We all benefit from tfp in some way or we would not be here. Halx has provided us with the best forum I have found in countless hours of searching for intellegent conversation. tfp is well worth our investment, don't you think?

Redlemon 06-14-2005 05:44 AM

I remember WonderWench. She seemed interesting, then she went all Ann Coulter in the politics section, then she vanished. I thought she had been banned long ago. And, checking her profile, looks like she hadn't bothered to post anything since August 2004. Yeah, she'll be missed.

I guess it would be bad form to post in this thread without donating... (opens second tab, opens paypal, hits send)... donation on the way.

Unfortunately, this type of behavior does not seem to be isolated to wonderwench or the political threads, lately.

Quoted since it is well worth repeating. I just donated a lump sum to cover for the lack of donations in the past and will make sure to donate consistently in the future.

tecoyah 06-14-2005 04:07 PM

Last month....I started a TFP Jar....seriously. All my change went in it, and the occasional bill from pockets. I ended up with fourty bucks after about five weeks.
Looking at it now (sent the $40 on donation request day) theres already five bucks in it again. Thanks for the reminder Hal.

Tec, that is an AWESOME idea. I probably have $20 on my floor alone. Too bad it's all covered with dirty clothes. Ew.

Now that works for me

Whenever I think of onesnowyowl in her room with her clothes all over the floor I'll put some change in my "wish I could be there" jar

Hey, if it works for me . . .

sashime76 06-15-2005 04:02 AM

To some of us, TFP has become a part of life. I arrive at work early in the morning to avoid traffic and to get home early to play with my boys. I may or may not have a very hectic day ahead but I always log in to read on the new threads / make replies to some. It's just like sipping a cup of coffee or tea everyday. Let's hope TFP stays around for a long time.

It is a cyber community we helped create, anyone is free to join or leave as they please. There is no need for any targeted attack. Don't like your cyber mates here? Can't stand the mods? Hate the rules? Don't log in then!

I tried to make a payment through PayPal to help out...but alas I have no credit card and I don't get how to send the money otherwise...if anyone can offer any advice I'd be grateful. I'm such an ass. :p

I shall be soon donating again, but by Paypal (it's my only option, sorry).

Please keep up the good work.

I think it was a limited time offer, and I just missed the cutoff as well. I really wanted one while she still had the Pea avatar, our avatars could have made beautiful music together. Ah well.

If you have a checking account, you should be able to connect Paypal to that and use that to donate :) My Paypal is set up for direct payments from my checking--it's easier and faster than a credit card anyhow :)

Personally, that's not what I came for and that's not why I came back after a year and a half away. It's also not why I stay.

I come for the people. I come for the open affection I get from many other TFPers, for the opinions, for the advice. I come for the "ladies in arms" feeling I get from the LL, the opportunity to offer my expertise in Sexuality. But really, I stay because of the people--because of Halx, sweetpea, Charlatan, Gilda, kramus, Shanifaye, K-Wise, tecoyah, abaya, amonkie, Lebell, sexymama, ngdawg, ratbastid, lurkette, TOK, Squishor, Sage...I could go on and on and on with my list as to why I come here (and if I missed you I sincerely apologize).

And THAT is why I donated.

Awww, thanks! :D

/warm fuzzies :D

Sounds like something to put the collective tfp-brain to...
