I love stories like this!
I like to consider the real power we can summon when needed.

12-Year-Old Son Saves Dad Stuck Under Fallen Car
Other Son Checks Vital Signs
AP
May 22, 2003

Chris Hernandez may be only 12 years old and 125 pounds, but the full weight of a car -- a car that was on top of his father -- was no obstacle for him.

Pedro Hernandez was working underneath his car Saturday when the jacked-up car's weight shifted and fell on him.

Son Chris, a wrestler, crawled under the car and used his back to lift the vehicle so his father could escape.

Another son -- Pedro Jr. -- an aspiring medic -- checked his father's vital signs as an ambulance was dispatched.

Pedro says it's "weird" to have his children look after him -- but he says he's proud that they did.

....................................................

a good news item!
inspiration from the real world...

I know we are capable of amazing things.
So often, we underestimate ourselves, don't we?

It is amazing how much you hear about people doing things like this in extreme situations.

In alot of the situations, its just the ONE person who can make the difference. I think that helps people summon whatever it is they got that they don't quite understand to do the "impossible."

I like stories like these too.

It's amazing what the human body can do when pushed to a new level. I think the most amazing thing is that in most of these cases the person doesn't really remember thinking anything they just did it. Great post Art.

It's OK with me if folks, just say "WOW!" here...

For one thing, we need more good news.

And second, speechless is a form of expression - sometimes, I guess.

Just think of how humans will be in another couple centuries. We are constantly getting faster stronger and more precise and everything we do always growing better. So hundrededs of years from now if a car(that is if we have them) were to fall on someone it might be considered the same as just having a bed fall on someone would be now.

Also, it's really inspiring to me thinking about how we have access to tremendous potentials. I work to explore the mental limits of my existence. Knowing that mind and body are one makes a story like this fill my mind with very cool thoughts and connections.
I hope it's inspiring to you, too!

Adrenaline can enable people to do the 'impossible' in extreme situations. This is another case similar to those in which a heavy object falls on a baby and the mother lifts a car, steel beam, whatever and the baby survived because of the same chemical reaction giving it strength.

Imagine if we could do this at will, how much we could do, but also how quickly we would wear ourselves down.
