No idea what you're talking about, but a search of google pics came up with something called Eagle Rock that... well, looks like what you're talking about.

You probably should have posted this in the Southern California board, because no one outside So Cal knows where Topanga Canyon is.

For the sake of those who are outside California, during the deluge the last couple weeks a massive boulder slid off of a slope and onto Topanga Canyon Road, which is the main artery from LA's San Fernando Valley to Malibu.

The url below has a nice picture:

They should have used a stick like we do around here.

Me and a friend had a discussion as to how the are going to remove this massive rock. I wonder if they are going to drill a hole in it and stick some dynamite in.

My cousin told me yesterday that they already blew it up, I'm too lazy to search, but that's what I heard.

I guess blowing it up is better than rolling it down the hill towards Malibu. Any idea what that would weigh?

That's pretty awesome...i'd have a lot of fun clearing that baby out.

That boulder being held up with a stick is a good one.

Charlatan 01-16-2005 05:47 AM

They blew it up with dynamite and hauled it away... Apparently they didn't use an expert and the first blast just sheared off a chunk rather and pulverizing it...

I used to drive through there when I was a kid. Have not been there since the mid '70's. I am sure glad I was not under that thing when it fell.
