The face of War
I debated even posting this.....there is enough negativity surrounding this conflict. After some thought, I thought it would be something of a tribute to mike....and an eye opener to us all.

You would be correct in this......
Few of those who replied knew this man....just as few of us know or have to deal with the effects of personal loss from this conversation piece we call a war. I found this placed a bit of perspective on the death toll.

I agree. I don't often quote Joseph Stalin, but in this circumstance it seems appropriate.

Thank you for posting this. My husband was in Iraq when the war first started, and a my brother in law and a friend are deploying in the next few months. With all the controversy and bitter feelings surrounding the war, it's sometimes easy to forget the soldiers over there as being individuals and having family and friends who miss and worry over them.

Indeed there was a little information that needed to be filled, but overall I got a general impression. He is honored

A lot of times its easy to forget. We may or may not be opposed to the war, but the men and women over there are heroes. Regardless of our politics, religion, creed, anything, they are fighting so WE don't need to. They are dying because, if it came to it, I'm not the one with the gun protecting my family from those that may do it harm, in this conflict or any other that may arise.
Please don't turn this into an anti-war thread. No flames. Please, simply respect a man who was fighting for us, and for whom his life came to an end much to early.
