Long hair & hats

I'v started growing my hair out (my bosses; girlfriend, mother, and the dude that pays me, have not complained) and I was woundering how much bigger my head was going to get?

No, not my ego, my hat size. There is a fitted hat that I really like (it just fits and is clean ) and was woundering if it is going to stop fitting so well in a little while.

depends really on how straight or curly your hair is, and how it lies on your head - depending on how thick your hair is, it may or may not fit. if it has a good amount of give, though, you should be fine.

Depending on the quality of your hair, between 1/4 and 1/2 inch I guess. A (male) friend of mine goes down one size when he cuts his hair short, he has pretty thick and curly hair. "One size" being 1 cm, about 2/5 inch.

I used to be bald, wore hats all the time. Now that I have long, shoulder-length hair, I don't mess with hats. My hair is too curly for that, by the time I straighten it out, and put a cap on, it'd be all curly again. And it takes forever to straighten my hair, its so fucking thick. I think I'm crossbred with steelwool, and a human.

Since I have long hair now, it doesn't seem I can pull of wearing a hat anymore.

I miss wearing my wicked Kangol hats.

Have you seen Randy Moss' 1972-era afro? He manages to squeeze that thing into a football helmet every Sunday, so I don't think you've got a problem.

Aw, your father was a brillo pad!

I had a pony-tail down to my waist for about ten years. When I had long hair, I really didn't wear hats at all. Since I wore my hair tied back most of the time, I doubt it would have had much impact on my hat size if I did.

I have uber-thin hair, and i dont have a problem, i've had the same hat forever and it fits fine if my head is shaved, or if my hair is longer.

When I saw this thread I immediately thought of the Edge from U2: you very rarely see him without a hat, and he had long hair throughout the 80s.

That said, I have very thick hair, and when it's long, it's hard to find a hat that will fit. But if your particular hat has some amount of give, you'll be fine. I'm sure your hair isn't as thick as mine. I'm not sure anyone has hair as thick as mine. Annoying, really.
