Rusty and their church are partly responsible for this, but in no way that can justify being on trial, at least according to current law. Their church forbids sex except for procreation. Rusty wanted more kids and talked her into a fifth. I have no way of knowing, but I would guess he wanted to get a nut, more than a kid. So he got a nut, literally.

As soon as she was locked away, he ran out and got another wife, one who had been “supportive” during his “ordeal”.

This post says absolutley everything I was going to say. Thanks Lurkette

Also, Bermuda, in this case it's a MULTIPLE murder, not a serial murder... A serial murder requires periods of "cooling off" between murders. A multiple murder happens all at once.

And to people who are against her spending the rest of her life in a guarded institution... Why? It's still a prison, but with a hospital focus. Do you honestly think she's a danger to the general public? She's at a low risk to reoffend, her violent patterns surrounded her immediate family, not random strangers from the general population.
