Psychic Experiences?
I did a search for “psychics” and couldn’t find much on people’s experiences with them, so I decided to make a new topic.
I’m new here to the TFP. For the past couple of weeks I’ve been regularly sitting at my computer enjoying many of your stories, your experiences, and your wisdoms. I’ve finally worked up the courage to share a story and ask all of you that have had more life experience a question. I’m only 20 and for the past four years, my life has been one crazy emotional rollercoaster. Three weeks ago, I was getting ready to move out on my own in the New Year, and I felt inclined to go visit a psychic. I was starting a new chapter in my life and I had a lot of questions. This psychic was referred to me by a friend. She is originally from Iran, she has been living in Canada for four months, and she does not speak English. My friend is also from Iran and she was there with me to translate. This psychic does not do readings for a living. She’s actually a 29 year old stay at home mom, but she does it for fun as she has developed her sixth sense since she was a little girl. The reading took place at her apartment. As soon as I walked in and saw her I was immediately comfortable. As soon as she saw me she looked at me so deeply that I could tell she was already silently reading me. She warmly welcomed us to her living room where there were two decks of cards (one was regular playing cards and the other was tarot cards) and a small cup of Turkish coffee sitting on the coffee table. I was to drink about ¾ of the Turkish coffee leaving the sediments in the bottom of the cup. I won’t bore you with the details, but this woman told me things about my past that only I could have known and she told me things about my future, some of which already are happening. When she felt strongly about a certain event that she said was going to happen, she would look straight into my eyes and say with conviction, “I promise, I promise” in her very broken English. Like I said, some of the things are already starting to happen, it’s just that other things she told me are just so hard for me to believe they’ll come true. I don’t know if I should believe her. Has anyone had an experience with a psychic where everything she has told you has or hasn’t happened?

Well some specifics would help. For instance, what are these future predictions that you are starting to see happen? Obviously there's a difference between her correctly predicting "in the near future you will encounter heavier than usual traffic which will cause you to be late for work" versus "$242.58 accompanied by a bald eagle will randomly fall out of the sky and land at your feet."
The "psychics" I've seen operate by throwing random bullshit out until something sticks. For instance.. "I'm seeing some kind of injury..to an elbow.. maybe a scar...or a bruise..oh oh it's getting clearer..I'm seeing a cut...and it looks more like a knee" "OH MY GOD I BANGED MY KNEE ON THE COFFEE TABLE YESTERDAY AND IT BRUISED YOU READ MY MIND!!!!" |
